Hi new here from North West

Hi all. Always wanted an mx5 na. Last year I purchased two. Divorced now, kids all grown up and moved to place with a double drive so perfect time. First was a lovely 91 green Eunos vspec all original. Japanese stickers under filler cap. coins under carpet. Japanese front fog lights. Came with a hardtop. Usual rust repairs needed. Arches, sills. I've tons of spares including engines (not usually the problem I know), subframes, interiors, Been doing my research for years so had an idea of what I was getting into 😁 or so I thought lol. Second was a 97 UK car, again with a hardtop and 12 months MOT. Plan was to have fun in the red one and fully restore and preserve the 91. I love driving my mx5. Fell in love with it. Best thing I ever did was to purchase that car. Only one who does though lol. Everyone else is too scared to get into it with me. Scared someone is going to drive over us on the road. Happens all the time I'm sure you have experienced. Eyes on stalks. Stay behind or get out Infront. keep out of the way if possible. Lights on in the day. Never a drive someone hasn't almost wiped me out while they text lol. Car has made me a better driver. Go out for a drive. Look down and I've done another 100 miles lol If only I had done it sooner.

Now the so I thought bit lol
MOT is almost up. Car looks fine. Drives wonderfully. Very good engine. Always makes me smile especially when I come across another MK1 owner on the road. Blink blink, smile and a wave or a head nod.
Know I know what my car needs. Nothing I haven't seen being fixed elsewhere but garages all say either too much or not worth doing? They don't seem to want the money. I thought as long as I was willing to pay and know what needs to be done I'd find someone who would do it and do it properly. Well nope. Not so far anyway. Prices are going up. Soon I hope more people will be rescuing these cars instead of scrapping them or selling to mx5 restorers for buttons saying what I've mentioned just to fix it and sell it themselves.

I visited a place who had about 20 mx5 NA NB's all mot failures. Sad sight to see. Opertunity for me though to find some hard to find bits. I asked why so many? Just not worth it apparently? Now I couldn't imagine anyone driving one of these cars just not wanting to try and get it fixed. Well now I know why lol even if you want too it's so hard finding someone to do it. Now I have two cars i can't get welded.

I'm buying a welder. Gonna do it myself. No job done better than one you do yourself. Be the last cars I own. Drive till my eyesight goes lol pass them on to my kids if I can stave off those tin worms 😁
