Terrible light output !!

I will have a look for you over the weekend no promises I might have chucked them out though ( Kuro brand I think )
I upgraded to Wipac units with H4 bulbs.

Unfortunately my MOT guy, while flexible on some issues, is a stickler for headlamp beam pattern... so the chinese LED units that enable me to see (but which don't have a defined kick-up pattern or a sharp cut-off line generally) are a no-no but the OEM units (which appear to be an undefined blob pattern to my eyes) are just fine.

No, I don't understand it either. lol

My other option (rather than finding/buying old-school units) is to spend £400 (!!) to get some of the WIPAC 7" units that appear to have been developed for that one-off Aston and then sold as upgrades to Land Rover Defender lights (which arguably are more commonly known as having 7" units):

But I have enough stupid bills coming out right now (including a clutch change before it implodes...) that it would not be ideal having to find that money... lol

I have just had a rummage in the lamp box.

I only have one sealed beam unit with continuity the other has a filament gone. These are the non replaceable bulb type so no use to you unless its a pair.

I did find a pair of 1930s MG chrome Lucas L140 headlamps.

The Wipac 7" H4 lamp units look good and are UK MOT compliant and you can upgrade the Bulbs to give a very good light output

I run high wattage bulbs in mine

I have been running high output bulbs for years without any issues as they do not affect the beam pattern and can compete with gas discharge brightness.

I have then in my mazda and volvo as well as my CBR600 just make sure the wiring is in good order.

I must've got lucky with my ebay halo LED lamps as they've not complained at MOT time.

I didn't realise the Wipac halogen units were so relatively cheap from MX5Parts - 25 quid a side with bulbs/lamps included seems very reasonable, barely more than the sealed unit offerings they have, so I think I might just get them ordered and be done with. At least that way I might be able to see on the way to/from the MOT if it gets dark

I would get the Wipac posh LED jobs for £400+ but it looks like I may need to pay out about £1.5k for private dental work, thanks to an underfunded NHS with months and months of waiting lists for anything at all, nevermind major work... :/ and the clutch work is not going to be cheap... lol
