My experience is that Parcel farce will liberate £25 from your savings as a goodwill gesture Rich.

Thanks for the feedback Rich, that more than offsets any gains made with the exchange rate. What was it for, a handling charge?

Are there any import charges when buying from the EU, skidnation for example? I've bought from them a couple of times in the past 6 months, and I asked them specifically about it. Their response: "under 135 GBP you get charged VAT in our shopping cart (same as when you order from a UK-residing business) and the parcel goes directly to you with no duties. If above 135 GBP, then the parts and checkout are VAT-free, and we collect VAT via payment link / email after, so you have no delay or duties once the parcel is being delivered."
As it happened my orders were under £135, and they didn't get caught in customs or have any additional charges to pay. YMMV

Thanks, sadly my purchase would exceed the £135 as they include delivery costs ISTR. I am wary since I got caught out when I bought my MS2 kit from the states about 8 years ago, card from the postman saying “we have your package, please bring a kidney or small child and we will let you have it”…
