Welcome! I hear great things about the ME221. How do you find it drives on the new ecu? I was thinking of putting one in and letting it settle in before doing a turbo conversion.

It worked out of the box with their base map started and ran well, instantly noticed the difference, the idle wasn't brilliant but I got that sorted remotely by valley5s. Once I'd finished all my head work (skim and valves plus some very light porting) I then got it mapped at Skuzzle and it's great now. I get 117 at the wheels which is good with just an uprated exhaust and manifold plus a Jackson racing CAI
Highly recommend it - you are going to need one anyway if you are going FI so to run it n/a is well worth it IMO

That's good to know. Did you fit it yourself and then get Valley5 to remote setup? Sounds brilliant.. I'm in NI with no specialists to help should I create a mess!

Yup - fitted my self and then valley5s remotely tuned using teamviewer
If you can get to a rolling road and know someone who is familiar with mapping using VE tables then they can probably help.
having said that if you use the MEITE software and follow advice on the ME website (particularly the pnp part of the forum) its amazing how much stuff you could do yourself, you can always save a calibration, load a new one go for a drive, datalog and send the log file to ME for them to advise.

but great yes - I recommend it and its one of the few mods that you can change to fit what you want to do with the car and even move it to another car if you want

I'm in Gillingham not far away. yup if we could get a few Dorset cars together and meet that would be great. Great place to meet is Compton Abbas airfield great views and fun up and down zig zag hill!!! |
