Where I live is pretty rural and generally very nice. One big exception being Rats With Wings, or wood pigeons as I believe they are more generally known. We've got them in large flocks. Where they really become a menace, though is when they congregate on the power line or telephone line, which transverses the drive at a car-bisecting angle. You can probably guess the next bit . . . . . Yes, and I do resent my cars being used for target practice. Plus my 'other half' continuously moaning about the mess on her RAV 4, which I end up cleaning off . . . . .
I'm sure there's a law about shooting them (assuming I could find someone with a gun). And probably not the best idea to go this this route when they are sitting on our power/telephone cable . . . . . I was wondering if I could find someone with a peregrine falcon, however the other half commented said bird of prey might also go after her bantams . . . .
For now, I just glare at them from an upstairs window and hope a virus that is lethal to pigeons will come along soon.

Have you thought about building a car port? Trying to stop birds sitting on the wire long term will be a real challenge.

A lot of pest controllers in the SE have birds of prey now, worth having a look. Would certainly be entertaining if nothing else to see nature at its best!

Have you thought about building a car port? Trying to stop birds sitting on the wire long term will be a real challenge. I've already got a car port. Thing is, several years ago, my other half decided to ban cars from using it and instead filled it with loads of gardening related stuff !!! And as she hates both my cars with a passion, I'd be nervous about putting particularly the '5' under there (that being the smaller one most easily put under cover). As it risks it ending up being a target for passing wheelbarrows etc. For now, I've got the '5' parked far enough from overhead wires to be 99% OK, put the German lorry (M3) where it's not a direct target (and it has a half cover to protect the hood, which is what I worry about more) plus copious amounts of polish to make the pigeon droppings easier to remove. That 'just' leaves SWMBO's RAV 4.

Get a shotgun .410 will do. Shoot them and turn them in to a pie, just add sage and pork belly. With a bit of practice you can get the breasts out with just your thumbs and bin the rest. swmbo can grow the sage.

You need quite a powerful airgun to drop the Canoeers, should that be canoeists, seen them wander off after being knocked down with a 12bore not as bad as ducks though you need a thermonuclear device to make sure that they are dead.
