Gf hasn't really driven the car. She's a bit scared of it. It's Loud and she knows it's my baby and scared of crashing it! But I drive her car all the time! I want frame rails, and new suspension. Frame rails are the cheaper option so may go for that first. Really need a proper job before I buy expensive things

How about swapping to one-coil-chopped OEM Mk2 suspension with Mk2 bumpstops, as per what robinm did on nutz, IIRC? That's on my radar, and seemingly only about £150 for a good condition secondhand setup. It's just the fitting that will bump up the cost! And I'd want to do all the bushes at the same time, and perhaps do the wishbones too, and then get it all aligned again afterwards... It never ends lol

I've a mk2 dash so seems right lol I'd def fit myself so that cost wont be there! When I get some ££ i will make " better" decisions.

The mk2 suspension idea could go well as a stop gap while you save up for more expensive stuff...or even change your mind and decide it is right
Although im not sure what the arch gap is like...you may want it looking slightly lower than Robin's keep everything stock look

Going lower than stock isn't really an option for me at the moment. I use the car for work and end up parking in some tricky roads, driveways etc and i scrape already!

I also fitted frame rails but tbh the mk2 suspension upgrade made a lot of improvement on its own My mk2 suspension was £50 on eBay and I sold my mk1 shocks and lowering springs for a ton Quids in!!!!!

If your going to do it you should do the bushes at the same time I used the cheap orange ones of eBay - they are fine (and I've tracked my car) Get the alignment done immediately though these cars are dangerous when the geo is way out!!!! need decent ramps or axle stands and a supertankers worth of penetrating oil?

I must have been lucky - guy was breaking quite a few cars and had a few for sale I think people are put off when they look dirty in the pic Bit of a clean and stone chip they looked great Also this was November - parts for mx5s seem to double in price for spring and summer!
