So, out of a fun run today and I've decided (after much complaining from the gf) that my car needs to be less bumpy.
It feels like it's a bit flexy, and all over the place especially when going over bumps.
My car is pretty much stock underneath.
Oh mighty ones! What are my options? Ty!

Probably depends largely on the amount of time/effort/cash you want to chuck at it, also isolating exactly what it is you are trying to improve before expending affore mentioned time/effort/cash so you aren't disappointed.
Stitch welding the shell is something I would love to do with one of these, but I should imagine it is advisable to get the thing sitting on a jig before welding.
It would be interesting to hear what the racecar folk think contributes most to stiffness in terms of value for time/effort/cash

To please the gf perhaps you could just get some very thick cushions to make the bumps less noticeable? Mine keep hassling me to install a JESUS! handle.
Is it actually more stiffness you are after though? What suspension setup have you got and is everything as it should be age/alignment-wise?

In my fun cars... I take "traffic calming bumps" at <15mph and on one wheel or another. Refuse to go over them straight unless I'm in the mk2.5, whose bottom is already 'lightened' via the magic iron oxidation process.

Ideally cheaper the better, cause poor.
It could be just tired old stock suspension. Alignment have to say, hasn't been done in my 2 years of ownership, but I'm planning on going to the alignment day. I guess I should start there?

But that said, faf with your suspension to either raise the ride height and/or fit harder springs ? thinking on the cheap here because I know you have two other projects on the go

Frame rails were the single best thing I did for smoothing it out over bumps...

It might just be me, but I'd say any efforts towards stiffening the chassis will make it more bumpy, not less.

I'm not really sure how to describe what my issues are. But it's like the whole car judders when going over potholes/bad surfaced roads.
Especially poorly surfaced roundabouts...

I did look at your suspension and think maybe i should have got them! Thing is my car was pretty low mileage when I got it! Maybe with the money i get for the borbets I'll use it for some coilovers

I think we're all overlooking the real solution here.
Lose the girl.

Has she driven the car? Mine moaned about it until she drove it, now she wants it and always asks if she can take it to work, despite no power steering and the loudest exhaust in the world because it's broken *facepalm* lol

get frame rails
every review i've read of them says they make a huge difference to how the car feels
when i get round to fitting mine i'll give my own view too
