Hello all, apologies for the newby post without intro etc, not the most prolific forum poster, I did have a readers ride thread on Nutz but that didn't last long!
...unlike the car which has been great and serves well as back road blaster, autotest, hillclimb/ sprint toy.
In brief... '96 VR Limited 1.8, Maxim works manifold, decat and the obligatory Cobalt exhaust. Piper fast road cams, 0.75mm head skim, light flywheel and a few other odds and sods. Has been running nicely on MS2, rolling road set up done at Skuzzle end of last year after engine rebuild.
Anyway... To now... And I've bought and fitted a set of GSXR ITBs on a custom manifold that had been up and running in previous owners car. Now, I will accept I've taken a bit of a gamble here because I haven't seen evidence that it worked properly before but hey ho...
Everything installed OK, not entirely happy with the throttle cable set up yet but will address that in due course.
Car fires up and runs... At between 2,500 and 3,500rpm
Now, I realised I would have quite a bit of setting up to do on the Megasquirt but not sure how to get it to settle down to start tuning!
As far as I can see, the butterflies are pretty much closed and I can't find any obvious air leaks.
On the MS, I've disabled the idle control valve set up and tried a couple of different modes...
In the Alpha N mode, it runs really rich. Bit confused, when the Fuel table is now converted to a load based on tps, why is the ignition table still Kpa load based?? I now only seem to be using the top third of the ignition load table?
I will inevitably get the car back to Nick at Skuzzle but would love to get her at least driveable first... Just kinda the way I do things!
any thoughts or suggestions welcome!
thanks, Dave
