Hi All,
Got my CB to wire up and I was wondering where the best place is to grab a permanent live 12v feed under the dash is? Wiring harness for CB already has an inline fuse.
Car is a 96 1.8 Import.
Thanks!

When wiring in my central locking, I got mine from the stereo permanent live (yellow cable i think)

After the dash swap decided the cables were thin and I now have a lovely usb step down and a usb hub to power things if required. Funny the cig lighter and stereo are both on the same fuse though! If you grab the feed from the stereo harness, it means less Canoeing around with the cars actual loom.

I kept the original ciggy lighter just for originality, but I normally put it in the door pocket and replace it with one of those plug-in USB thingies.

That's a good option but looking to do it tonight and doubt I can get one of those from Maplins or Halfords.

I went off the back of the head unit feed in the end, worked a treat.

Or you could do what the previous owner of my car had done, run a big thick red wire from the battery through the rear bulkhead under the centre console and up to the stereo, yes really! Hmmm! No idea why
