Ok, so, if you'll pardon this noob post... My boot is currently like a pond and clearly seems to have been like that for a while, going from the evil brown rust in places. Is this a comprehensive list of everything that could and/or should be replaced to ensure if stops leaking? - frankenstein bolt gaskets - hood-to-rain-rail screw gaskets (from DrMX5 on ebay) - boot lid opening rubber surround - aerial hole gasket (does it have one or will it need silicon?) - main rear light gaskets - third rear light gasket (does it even have one??) I think that's it??

Looks like everything. What condition is your rain rail in?

Er... Rusty? lol Annoyingly I ordered the rain rail screw rubber gasket things from Dr MX5 and now I have NFI where they are... I guess clearing out the drain pipes should also be on the list!

Your rain rail is the plastic strip attached to the bottom of your roof at the rear of the cockpit. If you pull the carpet away, you should be able to pour some water round it and see if any seeps in.

Ahhhh, ok - the metal trim on the inside at the base of the roof is a bit rusty, so pardon my noob confusion lol
I will have a dig round at the weekend if it stays dry for long enough! Still annoyed I've misplaced the rubber washer things for the roof screws, they'll be in the Canoeing dump that is the dining room area...

Just to resurrect this thread (!) I had a clearout of the boot this weekend and a poke round, and it looks like it's leaking in from the base of the aerial. I can't work out how to remove the aerial, though - is it just a massive flathead screwdriver (or chisel??) to rotate the top part by the 'cut outs' each side of the hole and then unscrew it? The part underneath is impossible to see by eye and a camera picture seems to show nothing to actually unbolt, so I can't see how it would undo from the underneath... I'm presuming (hoping) it's just missing a rubber washer thing between the bodywork and the aerial base! I did notice that the 'lip' of the boot opening (the part the rubber seal slots on to) is bent down in the centre up by the rear window - I have a feeling it's filling up because it can't drain properly, then overtopping the seal I've cleared away all the gunk/detritus from around the boot opening so with luck it will drain quicker, but I can't see a way to fix it and make it straight again without a blowtorch and a big hammer!
