So our track car has only been ran twice, both times at Blyton which was resurfaced not all that long ago and is smooth and not bumpy.
I found myself upping and upping the damping to run flatter and flatter and fitted a racing beat stiff front ARB between the first and 2nd visits. Ended up being only a couple of clicks off fully hard on the damping but when doing the cool down run on the entry road realised quite how harsh it was. I suspect what I've been trying to compensate for is actually a lack of torsion stiffness. The car came with stainless chassis leg stiffeners but not fitted so intend to fit, not sure they will do anything for this but can't hurt.
Anyway I'd be interested in what damper setting people run for track use?
Cheers,
Dan

I was on 18 front 16 rear today at Blyton, I run stiffer on a higher speed circuit like silverstone or donington. I could be wrong though

What Spring rates are you running?

That's a good question, no sure but pics of the spring identifiers below. Have assumed it's whatever they are supplied by default? I presume at some point I went past the point of increased damping not being evident so could wind back a fair bit and not even notice. Front Rear Rob is that clicks from hard or soft? How many clicks are there?

I was at Blyton last month with the OC and ran mine at 15 from hard both front and back. I'm at Hethel next month and I'll be trying something different.

That's from soft to hard. Of course it's only ever trial and error to what I thought felt right

Dan, you got 6kg and 5kg springs there, mate. ('006' and '005' printed on them)

I've just gone from running full soft all round, to (I think) 5 clicks from soft all round on my Zeta Rs, but I tend to run them quite soft because - as Rob will testify - I like to use a lot of kurb.

Titch, does your inside wheel spin up if you run the dampers harder? Maybe if you stiffen the damping less weight will transfer off the inside wheel?

It's not something I've tried tbh, maybe I should, stiffening them up so far sorted my handling balance issues, so there's every possibility it could sort that too...

(This number is important if you're setting up the preload) 005/006 = 5/6kg spring rate.
