It is getting close to that time again for the MoT Blyton Sprint.
For those that don't know this is a gentle and unburdened chance to compete in a genuine Sprint with trophies for winners, but in your standard car with a crash helmet.
The day starts with Open Pit Lane practice followed by two practice runs and 4 official timed runs, from a standing start, around the outer circuit and finishing just around the final "Ushers" corner. We normally then have a little bit of spare time for any failed runs of ones to settle bragging rights.
Trophies are warded for the fastest lap, the fastest 4 laps and then the most consistent which is the the driver that records the least spread of lap time on their 4 runs and is the most contested trophy, which you don't have to be fast to win, and has never yet gone to anyone posting the fastest laps. There are some minor prizes to, like best Hair, best racing driver excuse etc to keep things light hearted.
No special equipment is required, no beam breakers, race suits, cutoff switches, just a helmet, which we can rent you, (no passengers are allowed on the sprint part) and even your diesel company car is eligible Our current Rep Barge champion is an A8, followed by a 325 Touring, Vectra's have not covered themselves in glory yet!
It is suitable for beginners and experienced drivers alike and no matter how many track days you have done it will get your blood pumping as it is you vs. the track and no one but yourself can mess it up, hit a cone or completely leave the circuit and it is a no run.
