Hi all, I currently have a set of these in my MK1 1.8. they are stamped 264 8.5 on the ends, which I would hopefully be right in guessing is the duration and lift. Casting mark is 9e3a and the only information I have found relating to that number is the mentalist spec cams found in the fabled mazdaspeed c spec vehicle and those are listed as having 300 degree duration and 10.8 mm of lift. has anyone else come across the milder spec ones that I have at all? note please- those of you that helped me fit them need not reply

I was that guy. Information was thin on the ground but as they are marked exactly as mazdaspeed cams and have the duration and lift I'm unsure what other info you need? The were fitted to a mk1 rs limited that came over from Japan and as in most cases with no paperwork about what was carried out to it. The car always drove really peaky, you had to rev to make the most of it, a turbo went on and it was still lacking down low, then I discovered the cams, swapped in some standard camshafts and then that car was a rocketship. In hindsight I should of never sold them and kept hold of them as since sold the turbo car and now have a car I'm looking at doing a n/a build on.

The 9e3a is just a mazdaspeed prefix for the part number. They might even be mazdaspeed adjustable cam gears. I've never seen reference to another set, proper rare!

Its more curiosity over the origins of them man, I know all the mechanical bits about them that are important. Theyre still working brilliantly If I ever let em go youll be on the list of people I tell first!
