There is still space, and instruction slots, available on the Mazda on Track Car Control Day at Rockingham this coming Saturday.
Our Car Control Days, of which we have done many, came about because drivers were not understanding the dynamics of their vehicle and getting into positions where they were or potentially losing control in normal road situations. It is a sad truth that as part of the UK driving test no car control is included. Other than reading about potential skids, which is as effective as a child reading how to ride a bicycle, the first time most people experience any lose of control is just before they crash, with potentially life changing consequences.
The Mazda on Track Car Control Day allows you to practice, in safe, off road conditions the situations where you can experience many of the situations that can lead to a lose of control and a skid, recognise these, avoid them and also bring the car back under control if they do occur. Again, reading about turning into a skid is all well and good, but is the first time you want to experience your rear wheel drive sports car sliding the rear end on a wet roundabout in November during rush hour?
We have tuition available where yo will learn and experience, one to one, the conditions and effects of understeer and oversteer, weight transfer, braking, throttle control and all the actions that you do as a driver that affects these and how you can also use them to your advantage. It will also happen to be with the current MX-5 race champion.
On top of all this, these days are great fun. There is plenty of driving time to practice, get things wrong, then learn change what went wrong, and get them right. By the end of the day you should be having a blast, grinning manically and, most importantly, be a more experienced and wiser driver. And you don't even need you use your own tyres!
