When I'm browsing photos of MX5s I love some cars which are borderline retro, with white wall lettering. Although I am not sure I 'd actually drive down the street with it. The fantasy v reality. What do you all think? Cool, or daft? 5 by s_worksair, on Flickr

Did it on my car a while ago. Looked ace in my opinion but it was nightmare keeping on top of painting the letters when they wear.

I'm 50% with Boss Man on this. I did it on my NS2Rs and actually loved it more as it faded over time. Eventually yeah it gets uttery ratted and needs re-doing, but yeah.
Just don't go doing it with LingLong/Triangle/Budgéts else everyone will laugh. Heck i had enough of a fun time when people went "urgh really nankangs?" before realising which Nankangs they were!

I'd consider doing it if I had some decent tyres

I have some new Michelin PS3. So that is fine. But I wasn't sure how hard it would be to get them looking really crisp and tidy. How long will it last before needing a touch up?

I think it depends on the look of the rest of the car, if it's nicely sorted then the tyres can enhance it. If the tyres are decent of course.

I really like the look, but wouldn't do it on my 5 as my tyres are a cheap brand. When they die I'll get good stuff but despite serious abuse they just won't die.
I've painted them in on my bike tho, it looks ace!
