So ive decided after a fun year with various track days in the exocet that a bit more competition would be the next step looked at a few series and javelin do a 6 event sprint series which are timed laps over a variety of different tracks.
If anyone is interested in joining in with the series for next year and compete up against other cars and hopefully a few exocets will put a link up.
But for the car long list of mods some will be kept secrete mainly the outside of the car but underneath the list of parts for the turbo conversion is coming on slowly manifold/pipe work/turbo td04/ oil cooler/oil sandwich plate/ me2211 ecu. Parts on top will include intercooler and pipe work along with upgraded brakes undecided on what set up yet. Oh and if budget allows a change to a full caged version.

Well time for me to get started been having fun with my exocet on various track this year learning the car and its been huge fun even attended a sprint/track day at blyton park which i came 5th out of 50 odd cars which is was pretty happy with being my first time at the track and tyres going off. So the car in its current state at the last track day So have decided that blyton was the last outting of 2015 i have been slowly building up the turbo bits with a td04 turbo g19 manifold and oil pipes, oil cooler from merlin motorsport, rx8 injectors, upgraded fuel pump and the me2211 ecu through a group buy on here. Started last friday by picking up my newly acquired brakes from freaky parts meet him several times as he races the exocet and have bought his willwood 4 pot caliper with ds2500 pads which he uses himself. also put on some stickers too Build up of the turbo bits If you want to see my original build from mx5 to exocet then the link is below will keep this updated when the bits go on. mevowners.proboards.com/thread/2211/welshy1-exocet-lightweight-build

Right so last weekend managed to get started on the build first job was to remove the engine out and fit it on to the engine stand ready for the engine work to begin That was put to one side while I got on with the next change for next year which is a change from the 4.3 ratio torsen diff to a 3.9 ratio diff so instead of struggling to get the diff out with the subframe on the car decided to remove it completely. complete subframe off and old diff out ready for the new one which im waiting for new diff mounts as the old ones are pretty past it by now This weekend work will stop as ive got a back log of other jobs to do first but hopefully can get time during the week to strip the parts off the engine and start on that. The car over the Christmas period will be sent over to g19 engineering who was the supplier off the turbo manifold they will fabricate the downpipe/intercooler pipes/oil cooler pipes and get the mapping all sorted so by the new year it be all up and running with the following 2 months spent on cosmetic/safety and brake upgrades.

Right so during the week decided to get all the parts off and get them all prepped painted and got the oil return sorted to the sump. Replaced the cam/crank seals fitted new timing belt kit/water pump etc. Refitted all the parts back on including the rx8 injectors and turbo manifold So got the engine off the engine stand and on the engine hoist to fit the flywheel and clutch back on So got the engine back in didn't take to long done them a few times so pretty easy now looks pretty good Also while I had one laying around well 2 actually fitted a 6 speed gearbox and the 3.9 torsen diff. Got the ppf frame and prop back in I then called it a day after that. Also had a trial fit of the turbo pretty tight to the chassis but just fits in So a pretty good weekend still got plenty to do before it goes to the g19 for the final work and getting it all up and mapped.
