Thought i link into a series which im competing in during the year with the exocet. Basically its follows sprint format competition but you dont need a competition license its more a first step up from track days. Six round series 2 in blyton/1 oulton park/1 anglesy/1 woodbridge and the final at snetterton. You are classed into different entries down to what car you run standard cars with few mods are place in group d, group c is modified roads cars group b is kit cars and group a is competion cars. There is then 4 sub classes in each group with power/forced induction/driveline arrangement deciding each one. Atm first round is filling up each group has some strong competition especially class c. The format of the day runs as following siting laps run in a group of cars to run the car in get used to the layout of the track practice runs 2 untimed runs will take place these are to get you into the track braking points etc times laps depends on how the days goes but normally 8 laps total which your quickest lap time goes towards a series standings from 60 points down from quickest to slowest. There is an overal series results and group results to with trophies for overall 1/2/3 place and in group stages. For more info following the link below www.javelinsprintdays.co.uk/JTSS/or the facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/JavelinSprintdays/?fref=tsCome and join in on the fun i be at ever round so come say hi wont miss the car turbo exocet kit car.

I'd like to enter this but all the rounds are blooming miles from me.
I've also wondered how they run these without MSA approval and the need for proper scrutineering and safety gear.

They are the same for me the closest being oulton park even my home event in anglesy is longer than oulton park.
They run outside of the mse its not a classified series as such more a step up from track days but with lap timing and a points scoring at each meeting. I keep this updated round by round.

I'm entered in the first round, but will enter the rest as they come around. Should be doing all 6 rounds. I won the class in the mini non championship Cadwell event last August by 0.3 seconds and I loved it so much, I'm back for real this time around. Cars off to Mr.Roddison soon for alignment, but cars pretty much finished. Attachments:

I Really want to do this next year its a great concept with a reasonable bit of driving time. Hopefully I'll be able to do enough to compete in the championship. Just too much wedding stuff going on this year so I'm focusing purely on building the car up with the odd auto solo squeezed in to test things out when I can.

Well 2nd rd done what a day huge fun and hugely competitive throughout the field. If anyone is interested just join and take in the fun. Well organised and plenty of runs we managed 8 plus 1 untimed run and finished early.
As for my day my aim going up was to get a 1.10 lap time and finish within the top 10. Well managed a 1.10 by the 2nd lap and at lap 7 with a missing cycle wing as i hit a cone the run before got a 1.08.75 which gave me 2nd in class behind the overal race winner and 10th overall. Cant have gone any better than that.
Next rd in croft july 3rd long trek up but plans are to get the turbo rebuilt and start upping the power.

My best and worst run of the day. Great fun and even though I'm totally underpowered in the class I love it, great fun and a great bunch of chaps. Good to meet you Chris too. I was ultra consistent through the day with the last 4 runs all being within 0.4 seconds, beat my target time and had fun, so win win!
Croft next which will be a challenge as I give nearly 70bhp away to some of the other entrants, so on a fast circuit I'm expecting to struggle time wise in class, but there will still be a grin on my face going round!

Good to meet you as well croft is a hell of a journey but im determined to make the last 4rds see how far up the table i can get. Turbo is off and being sent off to be rebuilt then can up the power and may be closer to the class winner time will tell.

Always good when you meet or beat your expectations. Good work. It is could have gone even quicker in the last lap but pushed to hard on the last breaking zone but hugely impressed and impressed with the nankang ar1 great tyres for the exocet. You should give the series a go more mx5 are always welcome.

I think it's all a it up north for me. Could be tempted though as the circuit racing isn't as fun as I was expecting (apart from the endurance stuff)

Last two rounds are Woodbridge and Snetterton, so they're relatively southern! (For me!)
edit - too late! Great minds think alike!
