Awesome Obvs the two car garage being the priority I'm actually having it extended a metre so it's 7x7m. That's costing an extra $3,500ish. I'm also having the roof trusses left exposed so that I can install motorised pulley storage system.

Seriously, have a look at the Australian immigration website to see if you qualify to be accepted and just Canoeing do it! I actually earn less here than I did in the UK but I have such a better standard of living. I wish I'd done this when I was in my 20s after I left the army.
When people find out you're from the UK/India/Canada, etc it's not a case of "fkin immigrants stealing our jobs" it's more "Cool, welcome. How fkin awesome is it here??"
Just do it.

My only advice is avoid Sydney if you can. It's London prices but sunny (with a chance of sharks).

Early thoughts are Perth I think but all depends on what jobs can be found

Boring stuff but I had to drive to Bristol for a job interview last Monday, last few tanks have averaged around 25mpg, got 35mpg on the motorway, 319 miles to a tank, think that's a personal record! Think I built up about a half mm of crap on the lights from spray though, reached the point where full beams were a solid half a car visibility!

Good effort! I used to average around that when I was commuting to Portsmouth from Guildford for work
Definitely takes a toll on the car though if you don't keep checking it over. I was amazed how much of a difference even a day of driving made to the headlights

Any other unfortunate sods working over Christmas? I have Xmas Day off and then my regular 2 days off.
I work retail so no holiday from 18th Dec to 1st Jan for obvious reasons. Says I who's scheduled myself off 31st and 1st Jan - but being the boss has some perks.
I do however get 2 weeks holiday that I can use when it's hot. 2 weeks pottering about in the garden drinking cold beer while everyone else is sat in hot offices.
Luckily I hate Christmas so I'd rather be at work anyway. :-)

I've been off 18th through to 26th. Back in work after that except for public holidays. However, I'm actually looking forward to being back in work, as the temperature's supposed to ramp up to late 30's from the 27th onwards and, as I work in an office, aircon will keep me lovely and cool. (Or at least, cool).

I'll just leave this here.... Bear in mind this is a Facebook poll. I'd be willing to bet a large proportion of the OC don't use Facebook. The real result I'd imagine would be skewed even further.

Bet it'll end up 52%/48%. Unmodified means unmodified*. It's the will of the people. Just undo 28 years of modifications like that <snap>. How hard can it be? *Except are you a hard unmodified-eer or would you prefer some kind of compromise soft unmodification which allows you to keep your chrome vent rings?
