The rubber needs to be 1a for solos and the mx5 challenge, if you're suggesting that you have 1c rubber you're a bit stuffed for sprints and solos, I am not sure they are allowed.

Yes, tyres list 1a only. Full regs: 2. The championship is open to all fully-elected members of Bristol Motor Club. All entrants must produce a valid membership card. Just re checked my prarrie canoe. I have 1a rubber so i am in. Although just going through the many rubbers is 1a its quite unfair? Ranging from ditch finders to semi slicks approved for road use.

What rickysaid basically, you can still do well in the challenge just doing solos to be honest, but if you want to solo this year there is the Cotswold motorsport group autosolo championship, 5quid to enter, 12 rounds of which 8 count, they cross over with BMC and quite a few5 owners in it.

Its just an approved list, people turn up with all sorts, end of the day one mans passion is anothers poision, T1R are universally accepted to be a pretty poor tyre on the Mazda forums yet one of the guys who continually wins in his mk1 mx5 runs them all the time. Typically the difference between most tyres are quite small in the dry, of course when you get competitive and consistent you start to care about those tenths of a second.

I though you were Bristol based, Doh.
Kemble cant be that much farther than Chepstow can in it especially at motorsport o'clock.

I don't really think about the travel as I realize that cool stuff doesn't just happen you have to make it happen and that often involves a bit of travel So today I was a rockingham, 2.5hrs to ride around that ice rink in the rain, a trek but yes it was cool

I was really looking forward to doing Chepstow before I sell my 5 ... Sadface
Glad to be that BBR200 that makes the mk3s look not so fast Sandy. Hadnt realised the MX5 class had changed this year, glad I never got too set on doing it.
