I was really looking forward to doing Chepstow before I sell my 5 ... Sadface Glad to be that BBR200 that makes the mk3s look not so fast Sandy. Hadnt realised the MX5 class had changed this year, glad I never got too set on doing it. Eh? I've been quicker than every BBR200 I've come across, yourself included one even had an ex. British Rally Champion at the helm, happy days Mr BBR didn't seem to like my questions regarding drawbacks of his 200 kit when I went up to test drive as they never seem that quick, think he thought I was taking the piss but I was being genuine I wanted to know pros and cons before spunking lots of dough. Changes to the MX5 Challenge are to keep it entry level, it was felt Mk3s were too fast to keep up with. If you are selling your 5 I know people that would possibly be interested. There will be no standout autosolo performances from me this year as I have gone 1B on my good wheels leaving me with Eco tyres on my 16s that are solo legal. It's rubber rather than power that makes the difference which is why I have struggled to pull the trigger and mod the car power wise as NA tuning is rather fruitless really, its only due to a recent payout I decided to do a bit for the crack I know the payback is going to be a marginal improvement at best.

I am doing the BMC challenge again. My mx5 has stock power, or possibly less than it left the factory with :-)
I am hoping for a pot this year as the tuned mk1 and 2s are in a different class. Lowender hope you have done too many mods or you may not qualify. The regs cannot be formally published due to delays in teh permit dept at the MSA

I have a Megasquirt with a Blink stage 1 head, so that's me out I'm afraid. "....Class A will include Mk1/Mk2/Mk2.5 (NA/NB) models (except those specified in Class B) and Class B will include Mk3/Mk3.5/Mk3.75/Mk2.5 RS JDM models........ All Classes : the standard ECU must be used without a “piggy-back” ECU, whether electronic or mechanical"

I am considering stuff.

Hoping to enter Llandow in May, in whatever class, plus do the track day there the week before. Happy to talk you through the Blinkness and give you a go in it. Car with mods is great, highly recommended. More torque, more power, much more eager all round. I've added some more lightness too, and had a day's worth of instruction at Bedford.

Ross mc autosolo today was good fun, nice people and a good event - nice venue (though a bit of a drive for me) Good news is - pleased with the 5 - much more oomph - put on some fast competitive times. bad news is - driver could do bettter!! In 2 tests I had only one faultless run Extra 2 x 30 secs cost me - I need to concentrate more and stop playing! But we all like sideways! Roll on Combe- I hope I can't go wrong there! Car of the day was a red mk1 escort - he drove it like he stole it!

How did you get on against championship contenders, you would of been up against Rich Welsh who is a seasoned solo pro, any other championship competitors? Ross can be tricky as some of the cones often come back on yourself so if you didn't take note you could pick up a different one, I tend to like it there, in the Mazda at least as it can do tight turns, it is a ballache in the Punto
I should of came up a couple of people offered me drives and I made no progress on my own car today due to weather.
