Car now back up in the air, one thing the epoxy floor paint doesn't tell you, is that your plastic ramps now slide along the floor! Until you configure some bricks to hold them in place.
Something worth noting now is that the idle is rubbish, it even died at one point. I've set the timing, but have still to set the idle and re-bleed the clutch (I read that you should do this when changing the clutch).Would it be worth putting in a new slave cylinder since I've got an uprated clutch fitted?
Also bought some starter fluid to try and check/chase down any leaks, I hope it's not the intake manifold gasket!

Do you think the door bars will help with scuttle shake? I’ve had my hard top off for a couple of days & the chassis could be stiffer...

I've not driven far enough to comment yet in all honesty, but all the research pointed to the roll bar and door bars creating the largest difference, in terms of chassis bracing.

I drill holes in the garage floor and the put fairly long 1/2” dia bolts in the holes, the heads stop the ramps sliding.

I only use one per ramp myself, with a nut under the head of each to lift it. Two each side would be much better, no twisting. Off to get SDS drill....😉

Quick question if I may?
Where do the door bars bolt through at the front? Is it possible to see a picture?
I'm interested in getting some myself and have been deciding how intrusive they'll be into the cabin. I think around the seat will be fine but I'm concerned where it bolts through the floor is where I'll want my right foot to be...!

The GC Fab door bars don't actually bolt to the floor, the main reason I went for these, as I didn't want to have to butcher my carpet. They connect to the vertical, underneath the A-Pillar/Firewall brace, using two pre existing bolts. This hopefully shows it, but I can get a better picture later: IMG_20210311_191612 by Scott Reid, on Flickr

No pictures this week, but both front wings and wheel arch liners are now re-fitted. All with stainless hardware I'd bought for the task. Alignment is better than it originally was but still not show car. Replaced the exhaust bolts with high tensile units, so they now all match again and hopefully won't strip in future. Reset the idle to 900rpm, it was sitting slightly too low and running like rubbish (hopefully it was just that and no vacuum leak). I've got to refit the fuel filter cover, front bumper bolts and set the pop up lids as they're slightly out now, then I think that's it pretty much done. However, rear crank seal is definitely still leaking, with on top of that, the gearbox might be leaking from the input shaft seal I replaced I'll run it on the stands to confirm, but if both are leaking, I'm not sure what I'll do. Help!

Do you find them restrictive once in the car, or do you think you'll forget they're there?

Rich. I've already had it in too many bits, I'll try my luck and see how I get on, fingers crossed! Do you find them restrictive once in the car, or do you think you'll forget they're there? Another reason I went this way is they sit lower than the floor mounted, you still need to fall in the car and be aware they're there, but I'm sure after a while you'd get used to them. I mean people learn how to get in an Elise, so this isn't as bad as that!

Ran it in second gear for 30 minutes on the jack stands, checked later on in the evening and no new oil, will check again tonight after work. Giving me hope Pending what happens I'll get it insured and an MOT booked, should be able to batter out the remaining bits in a couple evenings. Fingers crossed we don't find any gearbox oil!
