Thanks guys, got some red d1 spec wheel nuts to go on and blanks for the cover bolt hole, trying to get some centre caps sorted out.
I think how rough they looked beforehand helps tbh.

So another weekend spent on the car, some stuff actually got put back on: Gearbox had oil and new boots fitted allowing some of the interior to be put back in: MX5 NA 02/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Drivers door replacement was fitted along with a replacement electric door mirror, what a bastard of a job that turned out to be: MX5 NA 02/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Airbox removed for manifold swap, found a broken sensor on what we think is the power steering pump, also allow for the A/C compressor to be removed: MX5 NA 02/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Old Manifold off, turns out it wasn't fitted correctly, RSR 4-1 manifold test fitted, a reducer to the cobalt cat-back system will solve where it's been cut and allow for easy fitting. MX5 NA 02/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr New door bushes: MX5 NA 02/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr No pictures of the refreshed window wipers, repaired floor stiffener, new lock set and ignition barrel fitted or the massive leak in the airbox (where it's sucked oil in from the engine bay), oh and to top it off the Lambda sensor that was fitted wasn't working either. Bought a smaller Nardi wheel and D1-Spec slim quick release, but don't have the earth ring with tab for fitting so can't get the horn to fit/work yet. Anyone know where these can be bought from? Can only find a Momo counterpart on Ebay.

Thanks Flood, it's just a balancing act of patience and perseverance now No car work this month as it's holiday season, long weekend in Copenhagen and then 10 days in Sicily at the end of the month...such a hard life!

Some more to updates for this, I've not been working on the car but my dad has, he used to own a bright yellow Triumph Dolomite Sprint, sold a few years ago and I think he's been missing tinkering tbh. Replacement wings and bumper that came with the car have been off to a family friend for paint, £23.00 in total, will look decent enough from 6ft away the rest of the paints in worse condition anyway. MX-5 13/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Got some more bits, some tinted front sidelight/indicators and some tinted rear lights as well as a Jass panel for above the radiator, it's for an ABS model but I can get some grommets for the holes. Also picked up a Zoom Engineering fuel lid, may refurbish and sell on or fit to the car, undecided currently. MX-5 13/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Also, got some stickers made up for the car from Ailsa at Team Beard, decided to name it "Project 52" as that's the lottery number that won the car and that's likely how many weeks before it gets back on the road! MX-5 13/09/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr I think that's about it for now, won't get near it until at least mid October. So it's looking less likely to be on the road this side of Christmas. Cheers, Scott

So I've not seen the car since the start of the month, but my Dad cracks on in my absence, I'm more of the Mike Brewer to his Ed China at the minute. Since the wings are off and they were such a ball-ache with snapped bolts, I thought I'd get some wing braces since I've no intention of taking them off again any time soon. Ultra Racing 3 point braces installed: MX5-09_2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Frame rail braces will get purchased in the future to complement these, but with current circumstances that won't be till next year. Did buy some white paint to get some coloured letters on my tires, for some reason I think it'll look good.

Finally an update, 2 months since I was last working on the car, 2 solid days of work in the garage Disclaimer: phone photos have that instagram sheen edit to them How the weekend started, "Ed China" had cracked on in my absence: MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr First off removing and changing the rear lights for some tinted alternatives, changing the light seals in the process (recommended job), as well as fitting all interior boot trim that we'd sourced: MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Fitting weather seals to both doors and refitting all speakers and door cards as well as all dash trim after resetting the tacho needle: MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Fitting both front wings and the front bumper/air guide, undertray and GV Lip to follow: MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Need to source an Eunos badge from somewhere, any recommendations where to go? MX5 NA 29/10/2017 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Lots of other little jobs not worth mentioning, plan at present is to get an MOT before Christmas then SORN for the winter months. Is that an old motorbike in the background? It's a Norman Autocycle 97cc Villiers Engine, from the 40-50's I think.
