The latest addition to the Horney Fleet. a 1996 VR Ltd. It's missing a few bits like it's original leather interior but it was cheap and I'd been looking for a cheap MX5 for a while. Plans are simple. Tidy it up and enjoy. More when I actually get the keys and the chance to get it up on a ramp and have a proper poke around and a drive. For the time being the Cribbs are babysitting it.

Picked up a replacement nose cone for it from a UK Merlot. The one on it is in pretty shabby state. Well I say that, I only know from the ics as I've not actually seen the car yet.

Hi, who did you use for your wheel alignment on the race car. I ask because I'm in Hampshire and need mine checked.

Picked up a nose cone from a Merlot for it, should be slightly less battered than the one currently on it. Also score some Gaz coilovers. Not even collected the car yet! I'm picking it up Sunday from the Sussex meet so expect loads of pics.

I went to the sussex brekkie meet to pic it up this morning. Sadly James managed to reverse into it before he even dropped it off. Doh! IMG_4852 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr IMG_4872 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr IMG_4873 by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr First impressions are it's great. It needs wheel alignment as it's a bit lively in a straight line and it now needs a replacement passenger door! Hopefully swap my BBS front he Sprint Car onto it today and get the VR wheel sup of sale as they're not my cup of tea.

Only the one that's open. It's a block of council garages underground beneath some flats near where I live, I rent a couple off the council.

Thought for a moment you had the lot. Now that would be rather convenient.

It would be pretty awesome. Would be better if they had electricity and decent light. The main bit is lit by rubbish sodium lights and the garages are pitch black inside with no lighting at all. THey're nice and secure and dry which is the main thing. My wife has her 1979 Mini in one of them, I keep the sprint car and all my spares in the other.

Update time.
New door sourced from Autolink but yet to collect it. Stereo fitted and working, door speakers turn out to be very good Sony units. 1.5 DIN cubby delivered today to fit under head unit. 14" wheels acquired off Skuzzle, need to collect these. Steel tuner nuts ordered as it has random sized ones on it at the moment.
To complete the build of this car into a cracking little B-road hack I'm on the look out for:
A strut brace A Safety 21/Cusco 4 point roll bar An OE front lip A fruity exhaust of some kind Ducktail spoiler
After all that with a bit of spit and polish it should be a cracking little motor. I'm really loving having an MX5 to use for the daily commute in the sun, it's been too long as the Supercharged car is just too hardcore for sitting in traffic at either end of my journey.

Untitled by Nicholas Horne, on Flickr Third set of wheels in a week! These are keepers though. Went to fit the coilovers last night but they're goosed as at least two of them are leaking. Going to get hold of GAZ and get them refurbished.
