I have been listening to a lot of "all them witches" recently.
i am not sure if they are just a generic bunch of stoners doing indie blues rock, or are actually quite something.

It's you! How's things old bean? Nice one for starting this off. Always one of my favourite types of things on these sorts of places.
I will check de witches, all of them out when I finish work as this PC has no sound. I started learning recently Spanialese which caused me to start looking for music in that language that isn't terrible...Hey Chica!'s earlier stuff seems to be super cheesy but they released a couple of songs lately which caught my ear-

Wow having got to a PC with speakers now I am loving those tunes. Wasn't sure about all them witches to begin with but it has a massive groove appeal going. Heavy. I will seek some more.
I had never heard of Ben Poole either but that is some next level live performance, having to retune the guitar constantly all through seamlessley somehow as well every time he bashes the bottom end. I like finger style guitar players. That man can play an extraordinary volume of notes though!
Music is all over the place with me nowadays. So hard to know what to listen to with so much music around. In the car I listen to Kemet FM on my way to work and it is quite shocking some of the lyrics I pick up from rude rnb in the middle of the day. Here is one I heard a few weeks ago. One line did make me piss but is this what the kids are listening to nowadays? (gratuitous use of the 'n' word in this song might test the board policy) Seriously though if I had kids i wouldn't want them hearing this kind of thing. Perhaps I am getting old.
Sorry

Bizarre Ride to the Pharcyde is an album I always go back to. Best act I saw at Glastonburglars a few years ago too. I have never seen a tent fill up with sweetly smelling smoke so quickly hah
Oh, and DIO. Never forget Dio. I hope this thread doesn't turn into some sort of horse type game because tis powerful you see. Dio is both deified and mandatory at our house.

Not the best singer buy the lad can play Don - loving that I wasn't aware of this chap before - shades of SRV with that heavy string attack. It's you! How's things old bean? The hey chica stuff is interesting - going in the vinyl book in case i come across any, nice to see someone doing shoegaze with the proper DIY attitude... Dio is a deity in the house as well, although I still hold a grudge about that sabbath stuff. Pharcyde is always good.

A shed load of country music, and some old school rock.
Luke Bryan, the shires, pistol annies, Tim Mcgraw, green day, fallout boy, etc

A playlist would be quite interesting although it will likely end up being all over the place...
In a similar vain to Cutterbuck, not sure whether these are a generic bunch of new wave bandwagon jumping dreampop/shoegaze proggers or if there is something of a truly awesome revival going on- U.TA屋塔 - For Alice
The U in U.ta is pronounced more like ooooo (wūtǎ in pinyin) - house/room tower as in towerblock I am guessing but unconfirmed, I will ask my sagely sources tomorrow. Given that western music has had bands called Pavement etc I can't be too critical of a band called "towerblock". They are from Taiwan, apparantley shoegaze is making a resurgence over there. There is a weird proto grunge scene too with bands like "Slack Tide".

ALL THE BIG MUFFS in that! ^^ Liking that, half way through it sounds like J. Mascis trying to play Iron Maiden. Man I love Big Muffs. Both kinds. I have been making souped up versions of the old EH pedals if anyone wants one. Very low noise PNP ones...

Ahhh truck fighters, awesome band., so underrated. - The muff tones stack is great stuff. i once built a pedal using one as post on a what I think was a red led as a single stage diode clipping thing. Sounded like smashing pumpkins on Ssri's. Actually I have a muff tone stack on the back of a germanium pnp ac128 fuzz face.
Loving that Korean Shoegaze, Where the hell did you find that?
Today. Have been mostly listening to thee Michelle gun elephant. These gents formed at university as a billy childish homage band. The name comes from a comedy mispronounciation of a dammed album title.

That's wicked! Nice and raw. Guitar tome reminds me of the Muffs, I have no comprehension of Japanese though. I might try and find some lyrics and work out how to translate them. Japanese mixes phonetic alphabets with ideographs and translating them separately instead of just plugging straight into google translate is often better for things like lyrics. The Taiwanese shoegaze came from a Facebook page I am subscribed to called 瞪入膏肓 Shoegazemania . I find it mad that the shoegaze scene over there is still embryonic and sounds very DIY. Since I began learning Chinese I have gotten myself subscribed to a lot of weird and wonderful Chinese language stuff on social media whatnot. I would love to hear the Muff tonestack on a germanium fuzzface! My mate bought a job lot of germanium transistors and I have been trying to convince him to let me have some. I have a few AC127s and AC128s that I scavenged years ago but the gain on them isn't great. A lot of people are makintg those hybrid fuzzfaces now with a silicon high gain first stage into a germanium. They sound really good. leds make really nice clipping. I made one big muff variation with asymetrical clipping using a couple of leds in series per clipping stage pointing one way on one stage and the other way on the next. having one set of diodes per stage aloows more clean tones to come through which gives a much more responsive result with nice big tube amps. It becomes a whee bit overdrivey but with muff saturation and sustain. Man I love pedals. I should really make some more. The arcadiator was the last one and it is a blinder. You can order the boards online. The dude who designed it is a Canoeing legendary guru of absolutely horrible unusable fuzz tone- www.parasitstudio.se/ CHECK THIS prarrie canoe
