Very sorry to hear about the steelworks Rich. I think it’s a national disaster strategically. I've been hearing that its closing since I first went in there - ~28 years ago  the closures are supposedly the iron & slab making so hot & cold rolling mills will be unaffected / continue operation.... I moved from the hot rolling mill to the coal plantthat supplies the Blast furnaces - ow not lookig like a great job with longterm hopes unfortunately for me, I'm a contractor not Tata staff so rarely mentioned in the media - even though contrators run the place  Our mighty leader guaranteeing blast furnace jobs back in the motherland. All in the name of emission reduction…. I'm waiting to see other countries doing anything (except talking?) about c02 & polution, the decarburisation capex is an interesting example of something thats basicaly impossible without stopping production.... but production in other countries will continue. aledgedly Tata will be importing steel slab from Turkey (& India?) to roll in Port Talbot, then it can be called 'Brittish Steel'  theres more in the story but I cant be bothered to type the fragments I know & have heard  also, now begins the 45 day consultation period! Anyway, Doom & Gloom withstanding still not actually done anything silver, have sourced a few more pieces of the puzzle but work / weather / other vehicles (my 1987 Mk2 Golf tdi recomissioning being one of these  ) will get going soon Rich. |

non-progress report time  it's looking like I'll be a gentleman of Leisure so will actually have time to get building and maybe use some of the 'parts stash'although clearing the garden / yard and maybe sorting the garage & workshop might also be a good idea and I'm recomissioning my tdi'd 1987 mk2 golf so plenty on Rich. |

so.... another 'lack of progress' report it's looking like I have time on my hands to work on my projects problem with that is I'm off work sick! well, not sick as such but unable to work as I've a damaged foot so cannot stand or walk - sorta a bit of an issue with my job and also in general  moral of the story, don't fall of a mountainbike after loosing a pedal and stamping on the floor  accident sunday morning, xrays monday evening and ct scan today.... Next.... Rich. |
