I heard plenty of people rave on about them but I chucked a set on just before bringing the car over to spain and all I can say is crap feel, fade like mad and when they they are in the operating window for all of 30 seconds, they feel too grabby.
Just a warning to those thinking of getting them. I’m running 280hp mind you.
Stick to mintex 1144 as I’ve had before many times in different cars or Carbone Lorraine RC5+ which is what I’m going with next.

Seems odd as I’ve used them on loads of 5s over the years and on a few race cars including endurance racing.
You must have an over agressive right foot. lol.

Did you bed them in properly?
I followed the process on Bofi Racing's website and they felt great at 5fest...the only issue I had was with brake fluid as my pedal was long as hell, but that's no fault of the pads

As it happens, I found mintex 1144 to be awful when I had them, really dusty and faded badly on track
Best pads I have used so far were Axxis ULT. Couldn't get them to fade and always great from cold

They were bedded in properly yeah, followed the Bofi guidelines also.
You see with mintex I did Bedford in the heat last summer, and again in December, Silverstone in the dry and in the wet, and donnington in the wet. Not once did they fade, never!
I do have aggressive feet, hands are smooth-ish. My braking is always very late and very hard. It’s just a shame as I had heard positives about them (from you as well Nick).
Ah well, I’m glad I’ve tried them anyway!

Strange as I’ve always heard good reports about them. How’s your master cylinder & brake fluid?
Another vote here for the CLs though, they put up with all the abuse that I give them without problems.

Fluid is a few months old, the rest is all in check, braided lines too. It's not that, it's the pads, trust me. CL's are the way forward I think. When something says "occasional track/fast road" for me that's daily. When it says "track/race" that for me means "fast road/occasional track"

If you have the cash/inclination, khare, you could always try Hawk pads?
I'm very pleased with the HP+ as a 'street' pad - awesome bite, even from icy cold in the middle of winter, and I've never experienced fade, but then I'm pottering about till I sort the engine out and don't generally use my brakes that much or that hard anyway!

This is interesting, I recently spent alot more than usual (Mintex) on some Hawk fast road front pads, they are OK and I have tracked them at LLandow but I havent seen the 2-3 times improvement that the price might suggest! So I'll probably save my cash and stick with Mintex in future

Interesting - thanks for the feedback!
I've not had the chance to really give mine a good beasting (and I'm not doing any trackwork anyway, so shouldn't be driving like that on the road lol), so it's good to have knowledge from someone who has!

What are your discs like? Pretty worn, they do need replacing real soon. But the issue is pad. Worn mintex were fine, and pretty much from the off the new Rodders pads just didn't give me what I need. Heard about Hawk pads, read up on them, but not overly convinced! Like I said I think CL's are definitely the next ones...

Could it be the case that your old pads were well matched to the worn disks and the new pads aren’t making such good contact due to the disks no longer being flat?
FWIW my mk2 has hawk pads when I bought it, they fell apart when I serviced the breaks. Now running rodders pads and have no complaints (including a full day at Oulton Park). As above I was a big fan of axxis ults shame they don’t seem to be available now...

I’ll put money on fresh discs fixing the problem.

I heard the fresh disks on old pads makes your car a death machine, though that person may be wrong
