I have searched the forum for answers to these already, honest!
My car is a 1991 Eunos (1.6) and has been in the UK since 1999. Should I be running it on bog-standard unleaded or does it need super? I'm used to fussy Subarus that need the posh stuff but it doesn't strike me that the Eunos is so highly strung.
Does anyone bother to retrofit central locking to the early cars? Seems a bit primitive with it being all manual.
Mine has no door pockets, is that normal or have they been removed?
Is it possible to switch the central cubby lid to hinge the other way, so that it's easier for the driver to see into?
What are the recommended ride height and geometry settings for fast road use?

Supposed to be posh stuff but if you retard the timing slightly then the cheaper fuels should be safe

think that ws on later cars, maybe UK options?? also the pocket type does away with the armrest/handle & only has a short inner handle....

DIY? try it & share your experiences * findings (plenty of secondhand consul's available)
What are the recommended ride height and geometry settings for fast road use?
dealers choice? any help? Rich.

What roads do you usually drive on (DCs, country roads, A-roads, urban)? How do you like your handling? (Pointy and nervous front end? Relaxed? Stable rear end or oversteer on demand?) Do you care about tyre wear? lol Fuel-wise... many people seemingly swear Super makes no difference but I've found all the engines I've used it in (so everything I've owned) have felt smoother and sounded less noisy on it. Even an ex-GF commented how her car was running smoothly, unaware I'd filled up with Super for the last couple of tanks, so I take that 'blind testing' as fairly good proof lol. The weather this week looks pretty stable (so unlikely to be a changing factor) so it's a good week to try the posh stuff and see if it makes a difference

Don't worry yourself, these engines are not fussy particularly about what RON they get, but you will notice a difference with the more expensive stuff in the tank

Cool, thanks all, haven't done enough miles to know what's "normal" yet, but also won't be doing so many miles that the extra cost of the higher RON fuel will make much difference either. So V-Power it is

Yep, I'd found that, thanks (lots of other useful guides/articles on that site too). I'm sitting at the garage now, had booked it in for alignment but they reckon the wheels need balancing first. If that sorts out the wobble/vibration I'll see if they can measure what the geometry's like at the moment, might not need adjusting after all.

I have a 1.8 Eunos with fast road cams - I’ve advanced the timing to about 16 deg and I now have started using the posh fuel - I think I can tell a marked difference (Or it may be my brain subconsciously justifying the extra cost)🤣

Do you care about tyre wear? lol I've mostly got the Eunos for motorsport, so it might see a few motorways/dual carriageways on my way to events, but mostly it's the handling on back roads for navigational rallies, racetracks and hillclimbs that I want to set it up for. It's got HSD coilovers and I think it's probably set a bit too low, as it scrapes the occasional speed bump (must measure the ride height to find out). My previous car for motorsport was an Impreza wagon, quite a different beast with 4WD, three times the power and probably twice the weight, so will be driving a bit differently in the Eunos, and I've not done a lot in RWD cars apart from my Dad's vintage MG, which at 36hp doesn't really have the ability to get the back end out under power! Not too fussed about tyre wear as it'll only do a couple of thousand miles a year, if that.

V power? Try Tesco momentum... If you can’t get the back out in an MG you’re not trying!

The J2 does step out occasionally on track but it's never going to be a drift monster
I measured the ride height last night, it's 300 mm from wheel centre to arch at the front, and 310 mm at the rear. Is that too low?

I'd say so. 320mm front and 330mm rear would make the suspension work better. The HSDs don't have a lot of travel.

Will see how crusty the threads are on the coilovers, and whether I have a suitable set of C-spanners! Trackday booked for next weekend to give me a target to get it done by...

You'll need a proper alignment when you've raised it, best check if your camber bolts are seized up.
