Ronin lives! After failing to start for ages, thanks to some helpful advice from members on here, I finally got him fired up today.
Oh dear. What a sorry state he's in though. Restoration work has commenced.
Hopefully a Phoenix will rise from the ashes 😂

Sure. Why not? 😊 The Mx5 is one of the best drivers cars ever made.
I've had mine for 16years and it will probably still be with me after many cars have come and gone!

A word of warning before you plunge to the Maserati Granturismo.
And that is ANY year of production.
Do you know about the clutch wear monitor system and life expectancy of the clutch?
The subframe rust and of course the camshaft variators?
That will be £5K, £10K and £5K.
There are many other problems also.
Do I own one of these cars, YES.
If you know of all of that, then enjoy.

Going for an auto so not so worried re: clutch. Will be getting a professional inspection done so sub-frame will be checked. Variators, well if I get one with them already done (and the problematic lower coolant hose) so much the better. If not, at least I know what may be coming! Eyes wide open and all that 😊 Not expecting it to be a cheap car to run, but it would do well to cost more in maintenance than my DS21! 🤣 Which year/model/mileage have you got? Do you like it (despite the bills 😉), or is that a bad question? |
