Last night I re-fitted my LED headlights. 14 screws. Two connectors. 15 minute job. Naturally it took over an hour and involved the use of force and blunt instruments FFS! Still, being able to see at night will be nice.

In my lunchbreak I cleaned off all the orange scuffs I pucked up from clipping cones on the Autosolo, and then ran the hoover round to try and pic up some of the dog hair...
It'll never, ever be 100% free of dog hair, trying to clean it up is like pissing in the wind.

I'm assuming you have a dog and don't have some mysterious, bizarre, unexplained occurrence of dog hair accumulating in your car from thin air when you're not looking lol

I took my little girl Lili out in the 5 today. She absolutely loved it! We were driving along some great flowing country roads and her hair was flying around. So I think we have our youngest member at 8 years old Have you considered enrolling her in the Under 17s Car Club? She might be a bit too young at the moment but they do have a waiting list. She'd have to use a boring family car during the training days but would be awesome to get her driving properly (physically and mental-attitude speaking) before she has to deal with the morons out there on the road. I did this as a youngster, so much fun!

It annoys me that the government would rather restrict new drivers than actually teach them properly from an early age but that's a different thread... lol

I'd have loved to do a kids car club. I had to settle with the odd cheeky drive of the family estate on private land

I think im the only one out of all my friends who hasn't had an accident (ever), hasn't been done for speeding or is yet to be pulled over by the 5-0 for anything.
But that may be down to just never being caught but I do 20k miles a year

And thus my point is proved lol I think anyone with a brain accepts that they do things they shouldn't sometimes (legally-speaking or in terms of compromising 100% safety while within the letter of the law), either intentionally or unintentionally, but it's the way one bends the rules that makes the difference between a good driver and a poor driver My road skills are terrible at the moment, I need to have a stab at the RoSPA qualifications I think - the IAM was good but the lack of requirement for re-testing means one can get lazy... lol

Mmm, I may have been a tad over the speed limits last night Although I knew the roads and made sure they were clear ahead. Great fun driving with wannabe over some great country roads. Today I tweaked my damper settings closer to the ideal all round setting. They are now a few clicks firmer (8 down from maximum hardness on Gaz Pro Gold road springs). It is not quite as supple over the slow bumps, but it is much more level and planted around fast sweeping corners. I'll stick with this for a while. For a daily I wouldn't want it any firmer. I am within one click of all round sweetness.

Mini update: Just swapped in halogen bulbs into my low-pros and figured out the levelling. I also have some large jubilee clips to stiffen up my exhaust hangers to stop a rattle. Roll on tonights test drive!

Learning to control a car from an early age means you're more focussed on the road when you do get your licence. I was lucky that I grew up next to a massive pine plantation (for paper) so I had miles and miles of empty access roads at my disposal. I was learning to drift in our old Beetle before I had ever driven on a public road. Granted, drifting on a dirt road with a heavy engine hanging over the rear is not exactly difficult, but still! The point was I was completely comfortable with driving way before I ever got on a public road.
