How'd you retain the aircon with the turbo, Rasc ? The FM kit was already fitted when I bought the car. However the IC pipe goes through the inner wing and on the passenger side and misses the AC pump, etc. Build thread on Nutz has a pic of engine bay. www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=152271

Is everyone else limiting torque?

Well, I am, still got more than you though (can't really run anymore before I go forged. it's a tracked car, e85 or not). edit, or actually, if your dyno is wheel/hub, we've got about equal torque, but I keep it high for longer.

Yeah that was my old car, at the wheels. Back to standard power on my latest car, I'll have more than my old car later in the year, this time with forged rods, last time was all standard internals.

Yeah, I'm all standard internals as well. Will run it for a while. When I can't drive this faster, I'll forge. But that will be costly as it will see me upgrading a lot of stuff, so it's for some later time

BTW do all dyno dynamics RRs do strictly WHP ?

I've got a sort of pact with a friend. These cars are meant to be cheap fun things, so the engine builds are just rods and standard rest, maybe headstuds.
I'd like about 275whp, so if any Americans are reading, that's over 300whp on your dyno readings.
I think you can make them give you a flywheel or wheel power figure, skuzzle normally uses whp.

About the second paragraph, thats with dyno dynamics, the americans also runs mustangs and hub dynos that seems more calibrated.

I've stripped his engine for him, blocks been bored for 0.5mm oversized pistons, heads been checked and rebuilt by the machine shop. I've just got to do lots and lots of cleaning, the sump was covered in thick oil and grime. We will be building it in a week and fitting it soon after, once I get my clutch swapped this week.
Interesting about the different dynos over there, all I know is that I want a bit more than I had last time.

So.... Skuzzle mapped my car today. 181 hp at the wheels with 13psi of boost. safe timing on a mix of old Shell SUL (98?) and fresh BP SUL (97). standard 1.6 with G19 kit, td04-13t, yellow rx8 injectors, stage2 exedy paddle and lightened fly.. and the all-important me221 ecu. initial response to my first drive was 'it is canoeing terrifying' but I'm growing to like it now. The pick-up now feels like a lorry just ran into the back of me.

Now, see, I want to experience this... but I know that once I'll do, I'll want to start going silly with mine, and it's already bankrupting me just getting it back to a reasonable condition...
