Well you know when sort of happy with a car and then someone writes it off for you and you got to start again.
Well that the place I'm in, wish I had loads of money but if I did I may of bought one of them new MX5s
Anyway my new to me MX5 is here looking like she needs some real love, the to do list is big the money tight REAL TIGHT.
My 2 biggest problems ok 3 if you think of the money side, but lets not think of that bit, There are.
1: No garage
2: I need to use the car for work, so she can't be off road for long bit why in a rush to find a new one really.
My first worry is the rust, being 1 and 2 big problem areas and the longer not sorted the worse it going to be or get sort of thing.
Good news sills done 2 years ago so it's just some bubble rust.
Well lets start with pics before we get to the rust bits.
This was FL04 when I got first got her home.
Picked her up on a real hot day, so soon got some bits that I took off my old girl to put on.
Wheels and chrome roll bar, dam was I dripping in the heat.
Also look at induction kits made me look at something and well for under £40 that be great.
So two little gas lefts fitting to the bonnet.
A lot better look than Horneys bit of wood bonnet stay but I guess it's all down to weight with him lol.
Now some bubble rust pic's
Rear drivers side Arch:
And now front driver side Arch:
My idea is chip the bubbles off then get the hammer out and dent in the areas, treat with rust stop and then get the filler out.
Then find a good color match now that's a good question, where best to go get best color match in a can?
Now anything wrong with my thinking please on the rust please say, but now to my next problem this maybe asking you lovely lot on keeping an eye out.
Mirrors now when I was looking about I noticed a few s-vt with chrome front mirrors, so I thought they maybe a option for Mazda...
Driving her home I noticed what they was all about
So replacement driver side mirror in the color needs finding.
I don't mind the chrome look but hate the mirrors looking bigger, I also think it best to stay with electric mirrors. So finding new standard mirrors great, finding them in the right color would be very cool.
Or can I replace both mirrors in chrome and them be electric? Not sure on good mirror replacement options out there.
Fingers crossed I get my main problems sorted as above out them it's looking for power and some little more noise, I mean I put my foot down and it really does sound like a hair dryer.
But reading Skuzzle info it sounds like I got the worse engine in the world, so maybe the dream of a turbo out the window for the future.
Not sure but I'll poke him this thread, I have induction ideas I've posted that one in another area.
Me being lazy will just link that post here.

Any other problems well the roof got a little hole in it, this sort is quick fixed with atlex help on getting a wet suit repair kit on it at the moment. But more money in time for a hood replacement will be needed.
The wish list goes.
Rust stopping bubbles gone
Some engine noise pls
Roof
Getting away from the high ride
More power! long way down the list turbo or super charger
And pls no 4x4 sending another car into the back of me, my neck shoulders back still feeling from the impact i took from the 11th August.
I blame age, me 45 now days. Came of a motor bike at well I little above the speed limit of 70mph in my early 20s I was fine apart from a little cut on my knee.
I guess when we young we made of rubber then later in life we made of stone.
Any help tip welcome thanks
Maybe see some of you on Saturday at the mighty5s meet - West Meon Hut Pub Sat 3rd Sept from 11am I will be using satnav so fingers crossed I'll be there.
