Yeah, didn't think we would be moving this quickly. But a new role has come up for my wife, and it is the right move for her. So we are off...
There are lots of new words I will have to learn.
My main concern is what cars to buy. I have been very disturbed to find out there are lots of cars they dont get...
Was thinking about RS4 or rs6, or C63 estate, or taking my m135 (as it has just had gearbox rebuilt, so should be good for a while yet) as a second car. But they don't get any of those things... (They get the new rs6 but that is too new and expensive to justify at the moment)
The best idea I have for family car is panamera (as a vaguely useful shape/size), and maybe an e82 135 for me - easily tunable...
Basically we are too spoiled to have anything American because the interiors are bloody disasters, and most Japanese cars seem to be very plastic heavy as well.
A bit stuck for ideas at the moment.

I'm struggling to think of something I want though (and would be acceptable to the budget controller).
Family car: Estate/shooting brake Not an SUV under any circumstance Decent engine I.e. 6+ cylinders or would consider electric Can't be a cheap piece of prarrie canoe (i.e. nice to be inside). Basically my wife loves audis, so they need to measure up well to an Audi interior with gadgets Not sure I can bring myself to get a Tesla due to musk being a massive knob end and worried about build quality. I would naturally go for RS4/rs6(bit big)/C63/panamera. They only get the last one of those...
Second car: Torn between a pocket rocket and electric runabout I.e. thinking about e82 135, but equally would consider Honda e your of thing. Would be nice to be able to modify to make ridiculously fast (hence 135 idea) But reasonably open to anything not massive. I.e. agricultural American v8 could be an option.
Any ideas?...

I think it's Un-American - well, walking not burining squashed dinosaur as to transoprt options in ConUS, if you don't want USdm offerings then it's either a teslarrrrrrrr or eurojunk import? as to eurojunk, beware of the import issues if not a new OR old vehicle - also state related legislations Rich.

Not going to import anything. Had enough of that with the Mazda to Switzerland...
Have plenty of time to decide... Will just keep looking around I guess.

If it were me I'd try something American market. When over in Tolleson, AZ. I had a look about one of the guys on sites Dodge Challenger Skat, I can see the appeal. IMG_20190422_173942_325 by Scott Reid, on Flickr

I had one of those for a couple of weeks. It was the r/t version, so not crazy. But it drove like a plate of jelly. Transmission was utterly pathetic as well. I managed to get stopped for speeding in it though, so it can't be that bad.
It might work for my second car...

I just rev'd it in a car park so I'll defer to your superior knowledge. How about a vette? or I suppose you could flyin'miata v8 swap a miata? Regardless look forward to seeing which way you go.

You know the answer- Miata. The tuning bits are sooooo cheap in the US.
Have been going there for years; vehicle choice depends massively on location. Used to drive my uncles’ Classic mustang a fair bit which made a nice noise but was a boat. You can’t go wrong with a pickup in rural areas. I had a Nissan Armada on my most recent trip which was a behemoth. Never tried a Vette, maybe next time. Chrysler/Dodge interiors were truly awful. Subaru has a really strong upmarket brand image.

I've already spent all the money on the Mazda, just haven't got it working yet! And your other list ticks all the boxes of cars I would never want to own! Except A Subaru. Never had one and always fancied it. But my wife thinks they are chavvy... Just had a quote back for shipping the Mazda. Looking at $3k landed I think. It is worth it to me... But not sure my wife will agree. Mazda would be a third car for track days btw. And then my wife has been eyeing these up instead of our T3 camper: Feels like an even bigger money sink than this bloody T3.
