I've done a bot more work this morning. Cut the hole bigger to put in some shielding: With the internal shielding in place (still some trimming required): External part on the hole so i can mark up where to cut: Rough hole cut out, and lined up for welding: I have tacked this one now, and will finish welding it up. Noobody is seeing that until it has been tarted up though. Will cut it into an oval shape (as per red line) and then weld some threaded bar onto the back of the flange so i can bolt it through the bumper. I have some heat sheidling to cover stuff in to try to reduce heat transfer as well. It is all going to plan so far. I also have another vband coming so i can use that to add the tip. I'd rather have something I can easily replace/modify if i Coxswain it up, rather than welding it to teh output of the back box.

got excitied and did some more. Outside plate welded on, and tidied up. Had to add a but more weld where i ground off too much: Outisde edge trimmed: Some threads welded on to bolt it to the bumper: I;ve jsut given it a bit of paint, and then I need to - drill the holes in the bumper - when the v band arrives weld that up to the tp and back box Exhaust should then be ready to go.

Your wiper motor is obviously related to mine. When you work out the problem, let me know... something's F ucked Rich.

Your wiper motor is obviously related to mine. When you work out the problem, let me know... Given that I've already stripped and lubed the pivots on the mechanism arms, removed the wiper arm spindles from their plastic bushings, sanded them clean and lubed them, dismantled and cleaned the switch and replaced the wiper motor, my next port of call to address the slow running will be the earth.

Is the exhaust going to be fixed to that tip bolted to the bumper? it needs to be able to move about a bit⦠within the outlet in the the bumper if you see what I mean.

Nope, that bit is just the shield, which is attached to bumper. Exhaust will go inside that. This pic shows the shield (before the lip was added) and the exhaust inside it. Paint is drying at the moment, but I'll take another picture tomorrow all mocked up.

This is what it looks like in place, and with a temp exhaust tip wedged in. I think I'll make the tip stock out a tiny bit further. I have painted the whole exhaust Matt white. I am not sure what to do with the shield and the tip. I quite like the white, but there is no other white on the car. I also have black, that would match the rest of the car, but I think that would look too dark... What is the collective opinion?

I would have just taken a blow-torch to the heatshield to blue it up a bit and left it raw. π
