I quite like the white, but there is no other white on the car. I also have black, that would match the rest of the car, but I think that would look too dark... What is the collective opinion? it'll be black soon enough as you'll 'tint' it with exhaust byproducts  Rich. Patina |

I have lots of electrical gremlins to sort out.
Headlamp motors don;t work (and i have replaced them, so pretty sure it's not the motors)
Inidcators - all lamps work fine. Left hand side as expected, right hand side double time - like a bulb is blown, but they are all fine.
Wiper motor only has one speed.
oil pressure gauge doesn't work
Speedo stopped working - but i am assuming that is the mechanical linkage.
It is all shouting earth problems, but i am really bored of wiring.

When you have it tuned, ask for some flames on the overrun, it would look amazing with that central exhaust, like a rocket.

I really like that you weld things now. Tip sits great, antracite? I welded up a spit, all the rust on the body, and seam welded the whole thing about 5 years ago. Do you not remember every single thing I have done to my car? ffs... When you have it tuned, ask for some flames on the overrun, it would look amazing with that central exhaust, like a rocket. Already been tuned, and I am not that much of a show off... If it was a 400 bhp monster - maybe... US post strikes again. THe last vband i needed to finish the exhaust was supposed to turn up yesterday. I _think_ it will be here today. I also found that they do a grey of the high heat paint, so i am going to pick some of that up today and use that on the shield. See what that looks like. I do like that they have lots of halfords/europarts equivalents here (or varying quality) where you can pick up most normal stuff pretty easily. |

Had to get the exhaust finalised yesterday as I'm going for an alignment this morning. First drive past the end of my road. So should be interesting...  Still needs trimming as it's not aligned with the bumper, and then painting. I also just had a reminder from Google that 5 years ago this week, I was doing this:  So it's about bloody time I actually drive it somewhere... |

I have finished the exhaust, and got a new harness so I got to pick my daughter up from school today and she loved it. Unfortunately I didn't look at the weather forecast and a storm popped up. I managed to keep going fast enough to not get too wet... I went with grey on the shield, and black on the exhaust:  Unfortunately, the exhaust has settled a little bit, so the tip is about 5mm of to one side. I was worried this might happen... I'll need to sort that out. I can't get enough of that rear view though. I bought a new harness for the driver side, and moved the old one over to the passenger. I got a 2" shoulder strap version so I can get a hans device. I've just ordered the grommets to put in the passenger seats too.  And finally, my side of the garage. I think i might keep the mini with no stripes on it.  |

One bit of good news is that the exhaust isn't off center anymore.
Turns out the seat belt bolt that goes into the tunnel side was pushing the exhaust over.
I swapped over from a short one to a longer one, it is just pushing it over by a tiny amount in the tunnel, which translates to 5mm at the tip.
So I swapped over the bolt again, and it's all good

niiiiiiice that would've made some vibrations Well... Funny you should say that. I think it did, but only in a very specific situation... I noticed a noise that sounded like the car was about to shake itself to pieces, but only when I pulled away without high enough revs. I was looking at other places that I knew the pipes were close to things (exhaust tip, underbody brace) but not this... I had only driven it once since changing the bolt. All the new exhaust stuff arrived today, but i need some tighter turns to fit it all in. And one of the pieces I was sent had a bloody rip in it. Made in the USA. Yee-f ucking-Ha  |
