Got my new wheels... But I don't think I'll be doing a track day this year. They seem to be crazy strict here. Surprising for the land of the free, small government and no regulation... Nothing like UK trackdays. Probably safer... But...

It is a Porsche Club, so presumably there will be some gammons there. But the fu ckers pop up all over the place. You can be having a perfectly nice conversation with somebody and then they show themselves to be racist/misogynistic/xenophobic/gun toting (delete as appropriate) right wing fu cking mentals. It's hard work.

Long time no update.... Finally fitted my new brakes. I have lots of other electrical problems to sort out, but shiny brakes win... I will post again about all the other problems I have. I think it is maily earth based. But i have been over all the connectiosn so many Canoeing times... I am ready to just bin the body loom and forget bout using it on the road. Having said that there is no inspection here... so i could do that and still insure and drive it on the road. Insane. I currently have the corrado g60 upgrade ont he front and sports brakes on the back. So fronts are not much bigger, but pad area is larer - so should do a better job. I am also waiting for the cooling ducts to turn up, so i should be able to effectively cool them as well...

Bleeding these brakes has been a pain in the arse - manly due to my stupidity.
I have a cheap bleeder, but no cap to fit. So i got a spare and tried to modify it (took a day to get it from Mazda). All going well until i pressureised it and it just shat a load of brake fluid into the engine bay.
Then i had to wait until my daughter got home to help me bleed it. I took it out the next day to try to bed the pads in, and had very little pedal pressure. Got it back up on the quickjack and only realised this morning that there are two fucking bleed nipples ont he caliper. Complete overlooked the one on the inside. So now i have to wait until after the weekend as we are going away this afternoon.
Basically, it has taken a whole week to acheive very little.

Wow,sexy brake duct kit.
Will be very interested to hear what difference you find it makes. That was my only planned 'performance related' upgrade I wanted to eventually do for Ronin (after the long list of stopping him rotting away 'stuff').

They are immediately more responsive. Takes much less effort to slow down(but progressively and no grabbing). Which is not a surprise.
bedding in was done on the road, so not ideal. But I think I did everything properly.
My previous set up was better than standard, but the pad never lined up perfectly with the disc. In this set up the pad is bigger (not by a massive amount) and is fully lined up with the disc.
I also discovered that although I had adapters to make the rear use sports discs, I was using std pads, so the new sports pads on the rear have more contact space as well. Slight boo boo there.
I have a proportioning valve to put in, but I’m going to wait until I use it in aber and see if I think I need to bother with it.

I’m in the US for a couple of days & have bought pretty much the same kit. Thanks for posting the pitfalls . Bringing the rotors in hand baggage as they put my case overweight🤣

Two projects on the go at the moment... Project one is fitting the brake ducts for my spanking new brakes. I have two intakes on my bumper: So i bought two air ducts and then used fusion 360 to draw a plate for behind the hole in the bumper. I then made some hols and some standoofs which I glass fibred to the back of the bumper: The ducts will get bolted to this, and then some tubing to the brakes. Job done (soon)
