Having a phase of not liking the Mazda, few things are going wrong which has wound me up. But focus on the positives, fitted my mohair soft top which has been off the car for two years now. Don't see myself using the hardtop now as I have the garage. Main reason for the soft top going in is so I can use my new snow foam lance. Did some tinkering to the garage too, there is no mains power to it so came up with an alternative for some lighting. Really chuffed with this. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWyGPn8gT6J

What's the setup for the lights Mr Wookie? I'm also off grid in my garage and thinking about potential solutions...

What's the setup for the lights Mr Wookie? I'm also off grid in my garage and thinking about potential solutions... Pretty simple, set of five 12v led flood lights on the roof they were £15 on the bay of e. Powered by an old car battery, charged by a solar charger on the roof. Totalling £30ish

so been very busy, the clutch was starting to slip which mean some parts would have to be ordered. I wanted to do the best job i could so ordered clutch plate, clutch cover, relese bearing, pilot bearing, crank seal, input shaft seal and gasket and outpu/prop seal. All genuine. here it is in the garage, just enough space to work on it though it wasnt easy the box ready to come out there was evidence of leaking around the box and rear of the engine, but the crank looked pretty dry. but put the new seal in as i had it inside the bell housing was another story, very wet. so new gasket and shaft seal went on along with the release bearing new pilot bearing clutch and cover all fitted and torqued here came the hard part. was hard enough doing the seals on the floor under the car as i couldnt get the car high enough to get the box out. when it come to lifting the box back in i really wish i hadnt started this. felt like it took for ever to get it to line back up. but got it done eventually, took it for a test drive and there were no problems. happy days. whilst it was off, got the exhaust manifold repaired as one of the branches had cracked where it joined the flange. i also knew there was a leak on the rear silencer but didnt realise it was this bad! split all along the weld! i had been thinking of getting a new exhaust anyway so this spurred me on. pretty soon this turned up letting my inner rudeboy out! after an hours polishing it came up really well and sounds really good, quieter than my last system which i didn't expect but im happy with. video doesnt do justice. https://www.instagram.com/p/BX999ygg6TQ

Did the exact same job this weekend past, inside of the box that came off looked identical to yours. Putting the box back in did you push the front of the engine up? we found it impossible if we didn't. If you did all that by yourself, I salute you

Had someone Sat in the car with a strap around the back of the box. Hadn't thought of tilting the engine.

long time not no post, better get one in before the years up. not much to say though... so, went to trax with some of the hairdresser squad (stickers available). weather was pants but still a good day out An m2-1001 rep bumper came up for sale. always been a massive fan of the bumper so that had to be bought. now it is a little damaged, few cracks on the bottom where it must of caught the ground. but being fibreglass its easy enough to repair very cold in the evenings now so progress will be slow i think also got an early christmas present for myself then not mx5 related, something very excited to be doing at work. first job im doing from start to finish on my own, a 964 carrera 4. back dated and wide arched

Car looks great, bumpers going to suit the RPF-1's I'd say. That Porsche don't know if you're allowed but keep us up to date on that as well please.

its the time of year where you show off your christmas presents so... Kg works spoiler, only taped on for the picture. will get painted before fitting. photo is only b&w as the lighting at night was awful, not trying to be moody. intercooler for the turbo set up, slowly adding to the parts pile. this is off a Renault 5 gt turbo, idea is its going next to my radiator. also done the wiring for the fog lamps in the m2 bumper, not a lot of point in taking a picture of that as ive run the wires in the original loom and some more porsche stuff, running gear almost complete. still a long way to go though

Great progress. I love the bumper. Lucky eBay find?
How is it doing all that in a single garage?
