Ha ha, kind of neither. I bought it knowing it would be a temporary thing. The rough plan is to get the car on the road in the next month or two, get a stand alone ecu fitted and then fit the supercharger kit. That will stay on for however long it takes to pull together whatever parts I'll need for the engine swap. In reality, that could easily be a couple of years ... I 'd hope it will be quicker but I'm also demolishing and then rebuilding the garage, extending the kitchen and putting 2 other cars back in the road at the same time so as per usual, my timetable is not fixed!

I hope your cats don’t need too much work, but I’m sure you’ll soon have them purring sweetly....😜

Oh wow I am shocked! Someone actually bought it
Are you using it as a spear or a reaper as per the advert?
And any info on how/why/what

Oh wow I am shocked! Someone actually bought it Are you using it as a spear or a reaper as per the advert? And any info on how/why/what At this point, you know as much as me ... I don't know what it is or even why I bought it! I'm just blindly hoping it's solid and can be saved as I feel it needs another chance to confuse people ... preferably at an OC meet If you look under the bodywork, it's a 70,000 km one UK owner car (probably a V Limited) with a decent wood rim steering wheel and tan leather seats. I'm kind of ignoring the fact that it's an auto, that the auto box doesn't even work and that I don't even know when it was last driven🤣 Russell

Thoughts ...
1 - there's elements of 90s Mercedes to the front wings and lights ... not sure if that's good or bad at this point
2 - is the front bumper actually just another rear bumper?

I like your sense of humour, I just hope the front end is not horribly bent under that lot. I looks like a scrap yard special.

No idea what I've just bought ... It looks like the barsteward child of an NA and a London Taxi... You're not the only person to compare it to a London taxi!! I like your sense of humour, I just hope the front end is not horribly bent under that lot. I looks like a scrap yard special. I did wonder about that ... Bits of Mercedes wing, possibly Corolla headlights. The bonnet I think is the standard one cut down ... the front bumper might be a mix of the standard front bumper and a rear bumper ... not that it matters, it's got enough useful parts on it to cover the price so I can satisfy my curiosity and all it's costing me is time! Tomorrow I'll find out, and then I just need to work out what to do with it! I have 2/3 of a fake Aston Martin front end sat in the garden that I could always chuck on! Or more likely, if the car is as clean and straight as I hope it is, it's going to be well worth fixing whatever issues it has and saving a car from being broken Russell

Hot off the press ... it's got a current MOT, and not a fake 6 month extension thing either. It was only taken off the road because of the fault on the auto gearbox, and the pics of the interior (if they are current) would back up the low mileage claimed
So tempted to fix the box and drive it as is 🤣

So tempted to fix the box and drive it as is 🤣 if it's solid, either repair the autobox or convert to manual and put a proper 5 front on it Rich. It will definitely get fixed ... this has to be one of the cleanest 5s I've ever owned! Arrived today, and to say it's straight and solid is an understatement. No rust that I can see, chassis rails arrow straight, wishbones and subframes clear of surface rust ... it's a bit surreal, especially compared to the previous 3 or 4 that I bought that have all had rust and previous damage! It was imported in 07 and has only had one UK owner, it's now on about 44,000 miles and the wear (or lack of it) on the wheel and seats definitely back that up So what to do with it ... it's not exactly photogenic, but I quite like it's quirky looks ... so I'm not sure yet. I've had an offer of a decent auto box, but I have most of the parts to do a manual swap sat here already ... so I'll have a think. For now, I'll just tidy it a bit and see if I can fix a few niggles it's got. It was a V Limited originally, so one option is to return the bodywork and the paint colour to standard Russell

Stick a manual in it and drive it about, is that an Audi badge?
