I mean, the format for listening to music that is. PIC HEAVY SORRY! Except rich5660 he's not allowed to post here. I've had a collection for a few years now, but only just started to get a half decent setup together. So my better half and my parents bought me this for xmas. ATLP120 TT with at95e Cartridge. I wanted something half decent, with a built in preamp that didn't cost the earth. This fitted the bill nicely. AT-LP120 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr AT-LP120 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr So after a while of listening with that connected up to my soundbar I knew I needed something else. So I found a nice Denon amp from the late 80s on eBay for around £50. Denon PMA-250 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr Denon PMA-250 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr Denon PMA-250 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr I listen to mainly Classic Rock & Johnny Cash so this little thing is ideal, nice and punchy. Had that plugged into some old speakers my Dad had in his shed that I stole for a while, then of course I had to get something new... Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 by Kevin Lake, on Flickr So I picked up some Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s for a nice price. Now I think I'm happy with the budget setup I've got. I even built my own hifi rack from Ikea tables.

Wow, If you'd asked that question 25 odd years ago, I would of answered that I have a NAD amplifier along with matching cassette deck(remember those). Turntable wise I had two phase audio turn tables direct drive(+ or - 6) with a Numark mixing station with a D.A.T recorder(Bedroom DJ) Can't remember the speakers make but were loud !!

I remember recording records onto tape for listening in the car as a kid and I'm only in my late 20s. Records are expensive now, around 20 quid for a brand new pressing. I'm not an audiophile by any means but I do prefer having the physical medium in my hands, flick through the sleeve notes etc. Mainly though actually listening to a whole album cover to cover. Brilliant. ...I'm off to stick some johnny cash on.

I live in a first floor flat. I have to wind the bass down otherwise I think they'll be a banging on the ceiling. Only got the new speakers other day, I'll be cranking them to some Metallica tomorrow afternoon.

why wouldn't you want me to post here? I like your setup! Kraigy probably has a better setup than me (not that its a competition).

I used to have lots of separates (and a turn table) but now just have an Apple TV/Spotify connected to big active speakers - that is all.
Never looked back!

I don't think Kraig has any black circles, he's all MP3.

I got fed up with keeping them clean, and having to get off my fat rear canoe to flip over the record
