That was brilliant. My daughter started lolling when I pointed out that with Elon Musk's puerile sense of humour "Falcon Heavy" was a rather obvious play on effing heavy. So she lolled every time anyone said it. Starman was very funny and "Don't Panic" was the icing on the cake. Lovely synchronised landings for the two boosters. Just waiting to hear if the main engine made it safely to the drone ship.

I guess it was all about separation, once that occurred it became a fairly standard mission into low earth orbit. (Standard for them)

Hmmmmmmmm those electric cars are a little expensive to run, that roadster cost at least £90,000,000 to travel a couple of hundred kilometers, that would buy you about 77586206.8966 ltrs of petrol. Gulp!
And they say electrics the future!

I've read novelist Neville Shute's book about the rival R100 and he's very damning about the R101 (but then he was hugely biased as he worked on R100). For him it was very much a lean private enterprise vs bloated government design contest and the R100's successful flight to Canada made it politically necessary for R101 to attempt to fly to India when it wasn't ready.
