I wanted to be an RAF pilot, but failed the medical (too tall...). Just as well really as shortly after that the RAF had to bomb actual people rather than Wales and that didn't sound like so much fun after all. Funny how your perspective on these things changes as you get older... Dream job today would probably be running my own cafe bar garage type thing. I love a good natter though so unlikely to ever get any work done! I'm lucky at the moment as I enjoy my job, have a great boss and it pays the bills just about so no desperation to change careers. I also wanted to be a RAF pilot but failed the medical on being colour blind. Bastard! I'm sad that I'm not cuz that's what I always wanted to do but make the most of the hand you're dealt and all that

Doesn't sound great but a few years ago I was part of a team installing mezzanines, great job satisfaction, lots of happy customers on completion, unfortunately not such a happy team as the boss was a knob, the money, although OK, wasn't enough to see you through the times between contracts and no retainer!!!!
So ideal job would be installing again but with a regular income.

Its just dawned on me after 20 years in my job (my last day will be early December) just how poorly paid most 'normal jobs' I was thinking of trying to get are, AND they all expect you to work 40hrs a week, not 35.....when did that become the norm?? Basically, I'm screwed!!

I earn prarrie canoe all, I work long hours with only a half hour lunch break, it's balls. I'm still not certain it's the norm though...

Last 5 years I've been able to work from home when I want, and to be honest had very little to do. I just cant understand why they've made me redundant. lol.
