Hmm, that sucks. Well, more reason to try and find a proper diff for this thing. Torsens are good, unless you touch curbs, then they are slow, stupid open diffs until the inside wheel is loaded again.
Too bad that the diffs I want are something like triple the money :/

Can you not get something like a Kaaz or a Cusco plate type diff from Japan - not checked the prices in a while but they weren't *that* much cash - £500 or so..

Interesting, haven't checked the japanese market. Sounds promising. Theyre around 900gbp new.

Cool, thanks! It will have to wait until winter though. I'm currently outfitting the workshop and have a little one on the way but I need a track worthy lsd, the current one still works, but after the recent findings it unclear for how long

Any of you guys have experience with kaaz vs cusco vs 3j?
Kaaz have pretty good rep in the states. Cusco is the old go to. Now, I may need a Tailgate McNoIndicate transmission down the road, but i should be able to keep the mx5 differential since I'm not into drag racing and mt slicks. It will however get beaten a lot around the circuits.
3js says 0-150lgf... I dont know until next week, but i aim to be about 420nm for as long I kan have it in the range. Thats 309lbf.

Hopefully, the plates should handle more than the gears. But it's not totally clear what they mean

Changing the wheel bearing on the ladys corolla runabout, I ran in to problems. Problems as in "this prarrie canoe is press in and is really stuck". Soo, what would you guys do? I felt I really needed a new tool, seing as I'm trying to get my home garage useful So I went and bought this 105kg box And had soon (after going to ikea until closing hours since we needed, stuff... Like scented candles and other very important things) got myself a 20t press I've been wanting one of these bastards for a while. Its manly to press stuff. Yep. Got the stuck wheel bearing out, these kind of jobs will be so much easier from now on. Btw, I know standing press blocks are suboptimal, but that was after I'd got it to let go.

The obvious answer, and correct one.
They are a lot of fun.

I'm happy to report that the little corolla works fine again.
I also replaced a plastic fastener on the toyster. Rainstorms here, waiting for dyno saturday.

In preparation for the dyno I changed the wg spring today. From this: To this: The former spring was the 0,3bar one, with which the car made 0,4bar of boost. The new one is the 0,6bar one. The car makes 0,7bar boost with that one Some roadtuning followed and the car feels properly fast now. Something like it did with my old engine (although its probably as strong yet). Thats cool, considering this is only half way for the new engine, probably what I will run with 95 octane.

Changed the bad brake cooling duct today. Also gapped some plugs to 0,7mm if the coils cant handle high boost @1mm.

Been searching for some plugs for my supercharger setup to no avail, where did you get yours?
