Remind me - is it going to be a permanent fixture or will you leave it so it can be unbolted?
I'm going to miss the 'Don't mess' racecar look with it sticking out of the bonnet, lol.

Yeah Wayne said exactly the same thing haha. It will be bolted in. It only takes a minute to fit, or remove it. So it can be taken off at a moments notice anytime. There will be no permenent strong adhesive or glassing it in place, hence the simple bolts approach. However I may add a micro fine layer of light grey silicone on the thin contact edge... just so it is water tight from the front. That won't be visible and would very easily be broken by gently pulling it off. So that's the plan.
ps
I just took a mechanic mate out. The idle was too low if anything on cold start up, then balanced itself out to be normal. His opinion was it is running rich, so may be clogging the spark plugs when it is sat for a few days. This burns off upon warm up, hence it settling down again.
Although the other day it was the opposite... idle was too high after it was fully run in and warmed up.
Hybrid can look at it. Although Sam suggested it is likely an air leak around the throttle unit, perhaps around a sensor - hence the higher AFR readings, which makes sense. That can apparently be tested using brake oil around those throttle areas to see if it makes it more air tight and thus affect the idle speed.
Added to my mission list!

Added to my mission list! Good idea on the silicon (or perhaps a thin rubber/silicon gasket?) - that should allow for the differing expansion rates of the two materials as well, I reckon. My money is on an air leak being the idle issue - I don't know why else it would be high then low, and if it solves the gauge issue as well... Fingers crossed!

Howdy.
I've only just managed to stumble across this and I've finished the thread now.
Wow, you've got quite the machine there!
I'm motivated to update my pretty much dead thread on here now too!
Also, where's the videos. Need videos. Please. Hear noise. Must necessity.

Cheers dude. Yep, it's amusing fun Wayne took some videos but had trouble sending them to me. When it is warmer and the roads are dry I will ask Wannabe to assist in some drive by videos. No point until I can actually lay down the power. I just dropped the new bumper and bonnet cover off to the painters. They will fit it in around booked in jobs. So not sure when those will be finished. I would like to get some other panels repainted at some point, such as the bonnet, rear bootlid etc as they are less than mint now. Although I'm a bit low on funds after this far! The cosmetics can wait half a year or so. For now it will be used as intended rather than being a polished up ornament. It was never a show car anyway. Just a nice clean base.

I think it would be good to get some in-car / dashboard videos, to show acceleration metrics, and also volume inside the car - three figures is properly noisy, like shouting at each other noisy, lol. One of those suction cup arrangements and a GoPro or similar stuck on the rear would be cool to show the noise out the back, but wind noise could be an issue, haha. You can hear it coming from the next street, lol, and that's in the daytime, when there's a lot of background noise! We need to find a quiet area and work out how far away you can hear it at night

I raised my suspension higher after Wannabe kept taking me down rutted lanes and over sleeping policemen. Pretty sure he thought I was in an Aerial Nomad (Actually, how damn cool would one of those be as the ultimate all rounder play thing!) After the adjustment and wiping the mud off the wheels and sills from the previous venture...
Baja Racer clearance now! Zero stance points, oh well. Should be faster down the lanes.
We can visit that office block again and let blondy know I can slip three fingers in easily now
ps
I have a Canon camera which can take videos. Just need an assistant and a decent day for it. Once my body stuff is back we can sort that out.

That is some ground clearance! lol Not sure how it compares to mine but I've had no issues with my ride height - it's a tiny bit lower than standard IIRC and it's good to be able to 'make progress' without fear of ripping the underside off Will have a think on potential places to do some videos - the main roads are fast and open but annoyingly trafficked...

If we can go over those massive speed bumps again then see how it is. I can always lower it a tad if the clearance is ample. May even stop on them and look under the car.
ps
Locations... camera on a mini tripod on a fence near costa roundabout? Get the arrival, corner, fast exit in second, third, braaaaap!

Could be a plan on the speed humps, although we might need to lean out to check (on the basis it's then two-up loading on the suspension) but try not to do a Brian Harvey lol That roundabout could be good, is nice and large, but it's also the main road and the Old Bill's armed response unit use Costa for meetings...

Mmm... so a large wide road, with a flowing curve to mix it up and no bacon rolls sold within half a mile. Will that work on a Google map search? Actually... remember those fun country roads leading out of SWF a couple of years back? There's even a pit lane.
ps
You'll have to decipher that. I don't follow mainstream drivel about celebrity distractions. Did he hit a speed bump, smash his sump and die in a fireball? If so we don't want that.

Those roads were pretty good, but some tricky corners if damp! Brian Harvey (IIRC) was in East17 but then one day leant out of his car to check something, fell out and got run over by said own car

Yep, needs to be a dry day in the sun. That's the best I can think of for now. At least you have a good chance of having zero traffic for a solid minute at a time. All the other places will be lucky to get a ten second gap. So it shoud enable a drive by in each direction - coming and going. Then maybe some close up's of the engine ticking over / being revved. In my mind... blue skies, sun, greenery, no other vehicles around.
