Well. 968 someone said? They are often in the top at time attack events Edit, oups 964. Still, Porsche knows how to build fast things, and they have for some time. The 96x time attack cars are vary impressive, not a bad base for aero as it seems. Most common drivers in Porsches gets overtaken by a well driven 300hp mx5 though //Threadjack.

//Threadjack is cool. Not much happening on my car right now due to rain! The ultimate 968... I told Wannabe about this ages ago. The power is amazing.
Nice little project engines...
You could run Thor at 1000bhp while leaving 500bhp on the table for added safety margin / longevity. Would be epic in a black 968 build done along the lines of an RS. Use some 993 RS parts - wheels, interior elements etc.
Oh to be loaded

Slow going at the moment due to all the rain. Although I've made a start on some minor jobs... Resealed the blanked off sensor threads on the throttle body with thread lock on the bolts and silicone under one metal blanking plate. Parcel shelf repainted and mounted with rubber washers. Bonnet hole and modded areas filed down smoother. Aluminium box ordered to mount some spare engine bay connectors inside. Suspension ride height increased for speed bumps. JBL steel mounting bracket removed. To do soon... Mount: ducktail, rear panel, bonnet cover, new front bumper. Reconnect a dash power supply cable (Hybrid seem to have unplugged it somewhere!). Find a way to mount Garmin SatNav screen. Test ride height over bumps and down rutted prarrie canoe "roads" Wannabe insist on Test throttle idle.

Will you/they be adding a lip (rubber or otherwise) to the front bumper? I'm concerned that you don't need any more lift at the front at the sort of speeds it can do, which adding a ducktail and nothing else might create... lol

I will re-use my OEM style optional front mini splitter / spoiler. That may add a tiny amount of downforce? I'd like a more agressive one although I can't see it lasting long over bumps.
It did occur to me to leave the ducktail until the end. I may blue tak it on and see what it looks like on the drive, before I drill any holes. It may look too OTT. We will see.

Don't screw or rivet it on, use tiger seal. I pretty much guarantee it'll crack if you screw it on Russell

I heavily reshaped it so it actually fits tight to the lid shape with zero force. I did this by using a spare old boot lid it was screwed to. Then the slot cuts I made were reglassed over. The original one was kinda warped out of the mould so it would have needed a lot of force to make it sit right. So I can see it may have split if I didn't put all that effort in. As is now, I can't see that being an issue ...IF if even fit it.
ps
What front spoilers do people recommend anyway? Something which can take a few knocks on speed bumps ideally.

I've seen a plain and simple strip of rubber used - bendy on bumps, holds its shape when driving.

In addition to what I have now? Or instead of it?

It's not about the fit, it's about creating stress risers at each point of pressure. The vibration of the car driving along makes the fibreglass move a tiny bit against the screws, and the holes are the weak points so the spoiler cracks. Using Tiger seal or similar ensures there is constant pressure, and no stress points. I get brought spoilers and wide arch kits all the time that have failed in this way. It's not just cheap kits, I've had Tuckin99 and Jubiride go the same way. You might get lucky, but it's not a good way to fit it Russell

In addition to what I have now? Or instead of it? I'm trying to find a picture of what I mean but there's way too many other results using the same terms! lol I can't picture what you have now, I'll have to have a proper nosey next time EDIT: I think it's pretty much this stuff - you can see how it deforms in the picture with the white bumper and the rock halfway down the page: www.solidrop.net/product/2-5m-car-styling-front-lip-bumpers-spoiler-protector-cover-rubber-accessories-for-renault-clio-fluence-talisman-frendzy-megane.htmlYou could perhaps screw it in vertically, rather than it sticking out like in those pictures, and that would create a splitter effect but still be pliable. Maybe don't order from AliExpress, though - it was either that or DHGate that accepts your order and card details then demands you send a copy of your driving licence or passport to them... Er, no thanks!!

Cheers, I may look around for something similar sometime. The ground clearance is no issue at all now. The lowest point is in the middle now by a long way - the butterfly brace. The raised height means it is fine driving at normal pace over the speed bumps on the Chelmer Estate shopping zone. No need to crawl over them now. I suspect it will even be fine over the monster bumpers we found near an estate of offices too.
New front brakes just arrived

Russell, I ordered some grey Tiger Seal. If I fit the ducktail I will use this as recommended. Although I already have the bolt holes in the sprayed spoiler. So I could cover those with fake rivet / hex screw heads, or... mount the spoiler using the adhesive, then add the screws gently with rubber washers and nylock nuts on the back - allowing some movement. Although giving me peace of mind if the adhesive fails over time. Belt and braces.

More decent weather today. I avoided the temptation to go for a blat and got on with some jobs:
Engine bay spare loom connectors now housed inside an alloy box. Redid the rubber edge strip around the bonnet hole. Tidied up the loom behind the dash a lot. Removed my radar detector.
Next decent weather day... body cosmetics...
