Been a little busy recently. Managed to get some black wing mirrors, tinted front reflectors and side repeaters. I've also tinted the sidelights as a temporary measure until Mx5parts get the smoked clear lens back in stock but they came out a little blue! I've also got the car sitting level all round but even though I've rolled the arches the passenger side is rubbing, think it just needs a little more camber. Really want to get some decent pics of my car, it's so hard on the drive as there isn't enough space!

Had a great day at Japday! Ordered my Cobalt exhaust today. Just need to source a 440mm cat now.

Was looking smart at japday. You had certainly done well with your first attempt at machine polishing.

Found this pic of my car at Japday, really like it! Credit to KingRy's Photography. Did some editing myself though!
Looks much worse (quality wise) on the computer than it does on my phone!

So it's been a while. If I'm honest I kind of lost motivation to do anything and couldn't find the time. Had a bit of a spirited drive the other day and reminded myself why I like cars so much! Got my motivation back. First thing on the list was my brakes, they needed doing badly although when I came to change them they were nowhere near as bad as I thought they were going to be. This worried me a bit as I thought there could be something else going on. All the calipers and slider pins were all free moving and the job was easy until the last one! When I tried to unwind the rear N/S piston back it went half way no problem and then just stopped. Turned it the other way and it worked but then wouldn't go back. Gave up in the end and after a bit of googling I think the auto adjuster has come loose or something. Anyway, new caliper on the way so should get that sorted next weekend. Annoying as I'm without my mx5 for the week Here's a pic of the new discs and pads, next on the to do list is to paint the calipers, not sure what colour though. Desperate to get my Cobalt exhaust on as well. Bolts on the cat are all rounded and seized so think I'm going to have to cut the nuts off (ouch!). Also going to give vinyl wrapping a go on my hardtop! How hard can it be.........

New caliper on and brakes all done. Think I need to bleed the system a bit more as the pedal feels a touch soft. The new caliper I put on didn't have an adjustment screw on the back so I thought they'd sent me the wrong one. You can see where it's just been blanked off. Messaged the seller and he said it's a better design and that it will fit. By the time I'd noticed the caliper was almost on the car so decided to keep going and trust the seller. So when it came to adjusting the caliper for the handbrake.....well I couldn't as there was no way of adjusting it, but it works! Handbrake holds well and releases no problem. I assume it's a better design because no water can get in through the back causing rust which eventually leads to the piston seizing up. All in all, I'm quite happy. I put some silent coat i the doors which have made a nice difference but hasn't cured a really annoying buzz on the passenger side. Spent about 20mins yesterday trying to stop it but couldn't. It's coming from around the window winder mechanism. The only way I can stop it is to put my hand around the back and push from both sides quite hard but there's no way of doing this without my hands so have to live it for now. In my last mx5 I went for white LED's in my dash, sanded the green off the back of the dials. Quite liked it, looked smart. This time I decided to not put so much effort in and go for something a bit different. I love them!

Did you remove the film from the back of the dial to get this colour? I wanna change mine to red and my mate just done his on his mr2 but he said it was a right rear canoehole to get done

Nah, that's what I meant by much less effort! Just changed the bulbs to blue and purple LED's. The last ones I did I used something like 1200 grit sandpaper to remove the film, it's easy to do just a little time consuming. Hardest part is getting the needles back on. I am going to sell my old ones but it will depend which dials you've got as to whether they'll fit or not. From your avatar I assume you have a mk2 which means it probably won't be the same ratio. These are the old ones, green film sanded off and the red film left on there with white LED's. Didn't realise how scratched the cover was before!

So again I've been slow to get things done! Decided to finally get round to doing my door cards, bought the material about a year ago! First step, make a template. Then I just made an outline about 3cm bigger all the way round. Cut out and and just copied the patter of the OEM cover to get a rough shape. I thought covering the door card was going to be tricky, getting the corners right was my main concern. Turns out it's very easy to do! I jus made it up as I went along and it turned out great. I then cut the holes for all the trim, this was pretty straight forward but not the neatest of jobs as the material was quite hard to cut. I also covered the arm rest.....this was very tricky! It's not perfect and it's a bit of a squeeze to close now but I'll j keep it for now. And here they are on the car
