Was 3rd fastest overall in wet practice & lead the Classic Marques class all day. Very pleased with the new tyres & final result. Especially as I beat my arch rivals in their Griff 500s & S2000 outright & on HC.

Great news Howard. Very well done there. I'm just swapping over to the same tyres as you from my 888's.
Regards. Rich.

bit squirrelly @ 1min (ish) Howard? puddle or oops good run Rich. I changed the front pads Friday morning & discovered the OSF calliper piston seal was 1/3 missing plus the piston itself was corroded. Plus the NSF sliders are corroded too. Consequently: The brakes are knackered & couldn’t rely on them at all, hence taking it a bit easy. Was enough to win by 0.1 seconds. I’ve got a month to rebuild them before Pembrey.

Great times Howard, and good to meet you. I was a couple of seconds off my PB on the day but as we only got one completely dry run in my class, I was happy with that. Happy to be best of the rest after some very quick Caterhams that were running in my class.

Here’s one of my quicker runs. Nice run, good whooshing noises and you didn't have to change gear much with all that torque! I was stirring the pot all day Sunday

Came 2nd in class at Debden on Sunday, behind a Fiesta (998t), ahead of a Suzuki Ignis and a couple of Morris Minis. I'd nearly caught the Fiesta by my last run (was 0.4s behind), then only managed to find another couple of tenths, whereas he found another second and a bit! When I looked at the entry list I thought he'd beat me easily, so I'm quite pleased to have got as close as I did. Was the same course as they ran on a drizzly cold day last October, and I thought the dry surface would have made it a lot quicker, but only my last couple of runs were faster than my best wet time from then, and the best was only 0.7s faster. Brakes are still locking up when used in anger...some pics from the club photographer here: flic.kr/s/aHsmVEygCn

looked like a good day as to brakes, you need more rear brake or bias? and maybe higher strength / poundage rated front springs? Rich.

I'm on coilovers, so I could make the front softer than the rear, but I think it's more brake bias/balance. I'm on NB Sport front brakes, and stock NA 1.6 rears, so they're very front-heavy. Will probably try more aggressive rear pads next as it's easier to swap them than add a bias valve. Just got this shot from 'Nick the Click', HCAAC's club photographer:

Bias valve made a big difference for me, I'd definitely recommend it.

Bias valve made a big difference for me, I'd definitely recommend it. subject of, boggissimo , I've an old bias valve in the workshop........ I will NOT be using it...... no garantee it works though Rich.

Happy to be best of the rest after some very quick Caterhams that were running in my class. You did well in your class which I thought was pretty unbalanced mixing the specialist & series production together. I was 0.7 behind my PB but was feeling pretty rusty & had made loads of changes to the car so was having to do quite a bit of re learning.😁
