Well like many mighty5ers, I spent the last weekend at 5fest out in the beautiful Welsh countryside, driving round Llandow circuit on Saturday and blasting through the Brecons on Sunday. Reading through this thread it's clear that my car is a bit of a garage queen and not really kit out for hammering on track, so I was a bit nervous about doing so, especially being a track-day virgin. But in the end it just sounded like too much fun to pass up on, and it was also a chance to try driving to the limits of the car without getting getting all illegal-like. I was pretty bloody slow compared to pretty much everyone there, but I still had an absolute blast. I can totally see why it's so addictive. My theme for the day was: “Right, this is gonna be my slow lap before coming in… Ok nah. Next one…” Repeat. By the end of the day I was at least keeping up with the slower cars, although I didn't overtake anyone! It was pretty hard on the tyres, one of which now keeps going flat, but other than that the car performed faultlessly, even on my completely stock brakes, aging Teins and OEM engine bits. I do seem to have picked up a couple more rattles in the cabin though. Obligatory forecourt shot on the morning of the Breacons run: All in all, what a top-quality weekend! I really enjoyed the driving, and getting to know some fellow 5ers better. Can't wait for the next one!

I am a complete idiot! I was reversing out of a parking space and I hit a pole which was right in my A-Pillar blind spot. Still no excuse though, especially since I noted the pole when I parked up (in fact I parked there specially so that I didn't have anyone parked next to me who could damage my paintwork - oh the irony!). This is the result: What. A. Moron. So I may hopefully already have a replacement wing sourced, but it will still need some good bodyshop work to get it looking mint again. Can anybody recommend any good bodyshops? Preferably an MX5 specialist?

you hurt your car I feel sad. I was just about in tears after it happened. I can't even be angry at anyone, it's entirely my own stupid fault

I reversed into A BIG CONCRETE PILLAR IN Kingston bentalls car park. Kinda ripped my mudguard off a little. I think I got off lightly seeing this 🙁
