That's shame John but no point in continuing to sink money into it. This might sound a bit daft but why get an MGB and go down the classic car route. Not overly expensive and things can be done to them. Also very likely to appreciate.

You could get a triumph spitfire and put your charged mc5 engine in it 😂

Not overly expensive and things can be done to them. Also very likely to appreciate. I've already got the 2CV sitting about doing nothing while I wait for the little one to be big enough to take out in it... although I'm tempted to use the money from the 5 to get it looking glorious again. The problem I have with classic cars is that I just don't have the time to invest in keeping them mint at the moment

Would probably be cheaper for me to have your charged engine in the spitfire than rebuild it 😣 but not allowed!!

Well this is probably my last post on this thread... the shell is bare, I just need to arrange it to be collected. However I thought I’d add a little pic... you might remember my diff died a while back. I finally got round to inspecting it properly and while the crown wheel and pinion are goners, the reason the diff broke was not crownwheel bounce after all. It was... TORSEN GRENADE. Not sure I’ve seen this happen before, but ho hum. I was planning to remove the Torsen unit to sell separately (nice little project for someone but when I got it out a few pieces dropped out the casing... This is a perfect cross-section of a Torsen gear. It should be round! It looks like the damage to the CWP was caused by bits of Torsen, rather than the other way round. So in the bin that went! Anyway, it’s been fun. Maybe I’ll be back. Maybe not. I’ll still lurk

Sitting here trying to tally up my parts count Sad to see it go, but the Stagea seems to be keeping you plenty busy.

I should probably add some context to the ‘three parts’ comment... tsp’s postman apparently isn’t the most gentle! It’s exciting to know how many parts will help other people’s builds though, and really happy I was able to help some people out. It’s been an interesting exercise, but I wouldn’t break a car again. It’s been about 6-7 months overall and I still haven’t sold everything! Talk about major faff. And yes the Stagea will keep me busy... 😉 @nursehalliday has just picked up a bit of a contender so I’ve got some work to do!
