btw why can't you do the sun design coming out of the speaker hole ? Just curious (cheeky - I know I'm probably not going to buy one, since my door cards are in good condition... well, maybe I might if I see one in a car and cry milky tears. )

I don't mind that you are not intending to buy one (if I can get them finished!) I appreciate your feedback

I appreciate your feedback Yup, if it was a like for like white and red thing with a red speaker it would be hideous IMO (and way too obvious) but as a subtle stitch (same shade as the medium) it'd be about the right balance. No need for two round things when you already have one presenting itself. In my own nod towards being a hair stylist I'm going to try wrapping my rollbar/harness bars in my cars with japanese furoshiki cloth:

You've got some nice designs going on there Andrew. The 60s Mazda logo works well with them all. Have you tried any of the other logos? I think there is a lot of mileage with the design in the different types of doorcards. Cards with teardrops, door pockets, manual winders and the movement of the lever (if I was going to pick a circle for the Banzai flag then I'd pick the path of the door handle for the circle - just for being different/discreet). The different types of door-pulls and the designs around those. Personally I think you could reduce and fatten up the streaks coming from the suns centre. Put the sun into the corner of the card and have the streaks all across the door. Put it boldly in the middle and have a symmetrical design. There are endless opportunities to do something different. Good luck....

Latest quilted designs: Rising Sun pattern using red thread... Diamond Crosshatch in Ivory Thread... I've run out of PU Leather now and will be ordering some more after the Bank Holiday. I'll then work on getting the fit and cut correct to fit the NA door panel and of course securing them in place. Most likely try either Evostick contact adhesive or something like No More Nails. I've not had much success with a hot glue gun, very messy! Still got to get good pricing for all the materials, waiting on another couple of suppliers! Thanks for your feedback ghostrider, luckily I can easily tweak the pattern designs to get the right look but I always need to stitch them out to see what the final result looks like. I'm trying different padding materials at the moment. The ones I have done so far have been with polyester wadding (flame retardant) of different densities. I'm also going to try foam of different thickness to see how they work out, probably much firmer than wadding... cheers - Andrew
