I have a Mk2.5 that I'm looking to fit some more supportive seats to. I enjoy the odd track day here and there so I would like them to help stop me sliding about so much but most of my usage is on the road. I know there are a number of options around but I was hoping that some of you may be able to recommend (or not) a seat based on your personal experience of both fitting and use. I'm 6 ft so I want to avoid fitting anything that will place me even higher than the standard seat.
Thanks
Ian

foamectomy to start with ? I thought about that but didn't want to adapt my nice standard seats and then find it didn't give me what I wanted, although the of buying another seat Mk2.5 seat and trying a foamectomy is an option.

I've always found leather seats a bit slidy
t25mpg / singlering turned up to the 2nd meon hut meet with a mk2 10th anniversary with mk1 seats.
mk1 seats are cheap and excellent
how fat are your hips ? that is the deciding factor when it comes to real bucket seats...

I've got som Elise mk2 seats ready to go in, they seem comfy enough sat in my hallway, and from reading up offer a lower seating position, a bit more space and extra support.

From the reading I've been doing, max width of c.55cm at the shoulders is the main issue for our drivers' side seats.
Passenger side is more tricky as the central tunnel is not symmetrical so the seat base is either off-centre or just won't fit if it's too wide (so the US drivers' seat fitment is a lot more difficult).

Thanks for the replies, I found somebody with a spare Mk1 seat today who was willing to donate it to me for research so that will be the first point of call

Passenger seat isn't a problem, best to leave that standard with standard belts of course though it is hilarious watching a passenger try to slip in to a bucket and do up a harness

If I'm happy I may just stick with that and just change the seat out for track days. My next track day is 7 weeks away so plenty of time to sort it out
