Anyone else use the cover for your folded down hood? I used it for the first time yesterday. It looks ok but was a bit of a faff getting it secured down properly. It added a few minutes before I could leave my drive. Then of course, you have that faff all over again if it rains, or you park up again. I am now wondering whether it is worth the hassle? Plus there is the extra weight for only cosmetics.
Is there a good reason to use one? Does it reduce noise at high speed? Any benefits at all?
I see they cost a lot of money new as well!

Sold mine. Never used it! Makes everything look a bit neater with the roof down. But you need to put it on and off when the roof goes up and down!

If you'e car lives in a garage and only comes out on sunny days then they're great because for 90% of the time they stay on. If you leave it parked outside they're just an extra faff. I tend to put mine on at shows and meets but rarely bother wise.

I'd love a garaged car as well. Although if I did that it would be (fantasy mode) a carbon bodied mk1 with zero stuff on it. No hood at all, no interior, no heater, literally nothing. Just a carbon seat and a wheel. That's it.

Well good for driving, on that perfect day for a short blast. Rather like a caterham 7 I guess. Which is why my real car is so different. Plus the fact I'm not loaded

I drove my 7 most days when I had it (and when it was working!). No roof, no doors, no windscreen, no heater, no paint, no trim, no padding on the seats, if it wasn't essential and could be removed for free, it came off Great fun on a brisk winter's day...! I'm grown up now so enjoy the creature comforts a 5 affords you I like the look of the tonneau, but can't be dealing with extra faff. Time is at a premium!

One reason for them I believe, is to secure the hood tighter and stop it rubbing the soft top material.

You can buy my one for £50 I think the only reason to have one is if you're interested in originality/OEM. For a car that is so well thought out, the design of the tonneau always felt like an afterthought to me...

I will sell mine on Ebay shortly. Along with my vinyl hood, unless anyone wants a daft bargain here.
